This combination is known for getting deep into your pores and is known for an excellent way to prevent acne and blackheads. Sodium bicarbonate, or ”baking soda”, is often used in homemade baked goods, as a polishing agent, a deep cleaning and deodorizing agent for household use.
It has been known as an excellent replacement of many harsh and toxic household cleaners and provides amazing results.
Baking soda is used as cosmetic (such as teeth and deodorant) as well. It is a natural beauty solution which is also highly effective in treating acne. An imbalance in pH can mostly cause skin breakouts, and being an amphoteric compound, baking soda can be used to correct the skin’s pH balance, therefore aid in healing breakouts.
Meanwhile, coconut oil has antibacterial, healing and moisturizing properties that condition, nourish, and soothe the skin’s blemishes.
How to Use Baking Soda and Coconut Oil as a Deep Cleanser?
2 teaspoons of organic extra-virgin coconut oil
1 teaspoon of aluminum-free baking soda
Always make one treatment at a time by mixing the ingredients in a small bowl. Make sure it forms a paste and gently apply it to your skin using a circular motion. Leave it on your face for no more than 5 minutes. Rinse it with warm water, massaging your skin in a circular motion once again.
Pat face dry with a clean towel. The coconut oil should hydrate your skin, so you don’t need to add moisturizer, too.
