Why You Should Take Your Apple Cider Vinegar at Night

Apple cider vinegar, also known as ACV, has been long used for its wide array of health benefits, including increasing beneficial gut bacteria, balancing pH levels, and helping control weight.

One of the most amazing benefits is its ability to balance blood sugar levels. A study at Arizona State University tested 11 participants with type 2 diabetes who weren’t taking insulin but didn’t stop taking their prescription drugs.

The participants were given two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar along with a snack, 1 oz of cheese before bedtime. It has been found that in the morning, they had blood sugar readings when they were given the same snack along with two tablespoons of water.

According to a recent study, adults with pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and healthy individuals, had lower blood glucose levels after taking an ounce of ACV when they had a meal consisting of white bagel with butter and a glass of orange juice.

In addition to this, the participants with pre-diabetes improved their blood glucose levels by half while those with type 2 diabetes lowered their blood glucose levels by 25%.

The studies proving ACV`s ability to control weight are as dramatic. As reported by the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, mice fed a high-fat diet along with acetic acid found in ACV exhibited 10% lower body weight when compared to the control subjects.

Acetic acid activates the trigger genes that set off enzyme`s ability to break down fat and thus prevent weight gain.

A similar study was done in Japan on obese individuals with similar body weight, body mass index, and waist measurement, and divided them in three groups.

During the period of 12 weeks, one group drank half an ounce of ACV, one group had a beverage with an ounce of ACV, and the third group was given a drink with no ACV. At the end of the study, those who drank ACV had lower body weight, lower body mass index, and smaller waist measurements.

The scientists concluded: “In conclusion, daily intake of vinegar might be useful in the prevention of metabolic syndrome by reducing obesity.”

Apple Cider Vinegar’s Effects on Cancer Cells, Immune Support

Apple cider vinegar detoxifies the lymphatic system, which in turn helps improve homeostatic function in the body. This may be result of the antioxidant content which reduces oxidative damage and improves the function of blood and organs. According to The Truth About Cancer:

  • 1 tbsp ACV
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tbsp ACV
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp of minced garlic
  • A dash of ground black pepper
  • A few fresh basil leaves

To increase the overall flavor of your meals, add a tablespoon or two of vinegar to them.
