Replace "Simply Potatoes" with a sack of potatoes and a grater. It's a workout and the potatoes are cheaper this way.
Grow your own cilantro/parsley. If you use it regularly you might want to grow more than 1 plantsworth, so get some pots and some seeds and start!
While we're at it, you can grow your own lettuce on the windowsill. Same with radishes. Peppers are trickier but can be really rewarding because of how prolific some varieties are.

Do Americans really buy packaged meat at the super market?

Don't you have like a neighborhood butcher?

      Anonymous

I'd say most grocery stores in America worth their salt have an in-house butcher and a bakery, usually a deli too. There are dedicated butchers around but it's more of a convenience for most people to get meat in the same place they do the rest of their shopping.

      Anonymous

My local butcher costs around two or three times as much for the same weight and cuts of meat compared to buying at Costco in bulk. I don't make enough money to buy all of my meats there, unfortunately, even though I earn a relatively high salary.

      https://i.imgur.com/Iv8nYnq.jpg

$100 dollars of groceries bros... How am I supposed to be a big guy?

It's been said already, but this shopping could be dramatically more efficient. Rice, beans, potatoes, limit the red meat (or at least choose cheaper cuts) and mix in some turkey/chicken/fish, get nutrient-dense vegetables like broccoli and maybe some fruits, cut out unnecessary things like avocados and marshmallows, etc etc. Just buy real food that's as unprocessed as possible, and in the most bulk packaging available.
I always liked the old Animal "bulking on a budget" videos. Prices would be dated now, but the concepts are still there.

I know someone has already said these, but beans and potatoes will help a lot. Both have a lot of calories and are cheap. Beans have great macros. Potatoes have plenty of nutrients. If you don't mind the slightly different taste cabbage is a lot cheaper than lettuce and is great if your fry it in grease from your meat. You can also get fattier cuts of meat. They are cheaper, have more calories, and taste just as good or better. If you really want to get cheap on the calories then sugar is your best bet, but many people can have problems with sugar. A sprinkle of sugar on sautéed onions really bumps them up a notch.
