      >Doing close to 100 sets three times a week

I suppose you just want to live at the gym three days a week?

yeah even glancing at it that's a disaster
      >5 sets of 10, 8, 8, 6, 4 reps
that's 180 fricking reps in total on JUST the bench
squats are even worse with 306 reps jesus christ

i think it just means 5 sets with the first set being 10 reps, the second being 8, the third being 8, the fourth being 6, and the fifth being 4 reps.

How fricking moronic are you anon?

Okay? Whats the point of scientifically optimal training and nutrition if this is what it gets you? Either the training doesnt matter at all and its 100% genetics which renders all this discussion useless because it is then already predetermined if you can/will look good or not OR then Mike Mentzer has the better training philosophy and "science" is wrong.

So idk, pick your cope I guess

      >Whats the point of scientifically optimal training and nutrition if this is what it gets you?
      1) He looks good (in terms of size of muscles)
      2) How you ultimately look is hugely dependent on genetics.

        >He looks good
Not really when you consider he's taking every drug under the sun to achieve that look.

      >the training doesnt matter at all and its 100% steroids
This is why so many literal garbage training programs stick around for so long. "Oh that guy's big and this is what he did, guess it must work lol."

It's funny when Mentzer dogmatics actually get shown his work and are totally unaware of what it is. He's clearly just a symbol they latched onto rather than a guy they actually care about.

      See this moron
      >random whining about "science" when mentzer makes nothing but appeals to science and reason
      >complete unfamiliarity with Mentzer's work
      >calls it cope because doesn't understand what's being discussed
These are simple brained morons who always infest every topic if you don't forcibly lock them out.

        >random whining about "science" when mentzer makes nothing but appeals to science and reason
The "science" that Israetel works off of is more of what I would call "chasing your own tail" with research studies that don't really prove anything and often conflict.
The "science and reason" from Mentzer that you're referring to are an appeal to "first principles". He does not cite any studies in any of his work, preferring to talk about his own experience and the testing he's done on his own clients.
tldr you're using the term "science" here to refer to two different things.
        Hope this helps, anon.

Yes, it's definitely 100% one or the other. Lmao how autistic are you? That's right: very.

Real world here: very few things are black and white. Genetics counts for a lot. Nutrition and training count for a lot. Roids count for a lot. Simply assuming one is responsible for everything and discussion about everything else is useless is peak smoothbrain autism.

Or the science is right and this is the best this guy could look but if someone with better genetics used the same training, the would look the best they could

    >listening to roid troonys
You're never gonna make it. You can do completely moronic programs and gain muscle on roids. This guy looks horrible, why would you follow his advice? Just be natty and actually run. You'll look way better than this freak.

    Hey IST, rate my routine

    >monday
    >roll into the gym with my wheelchair (to preserve energy)
    >do one rep bench press at 20% of my 1RM
    >roll home
    >fall into a chemically induced coma for two weeks to aid recovery

    >tuesday
    >10 minute brisk walk, followed by another two week coma

    >wednesday
    >one bodyweight squat, followed by another two week coma

    >thursday
    >one crunch, followed by another two week coma

    >friday
    >one bodyweight lateral raise, followed by another two week coma

    >saturday
    >one lat pulldown at 5% of my 1rm, followed by another two week coma

    >sunday
    >20 minutes of active rest, follow by two weeks of passive rest (another coma)

    Am I recovering enough?

      too much volume

try having someone push your wheelchair so you can rest more

only do the eccentric portion of the bench down onto safeties (leave the bar + plates there to save energy)

do the eccentric part of the squat and crunch down into an 8 week coma and skip the walk

      etc.

      work smarter not harder anon

If you do everything here while fighting the intense forces of gravity there is no reason you wouldn't grow muscle with this routine.

Don't do this, I knew a motherfricker who did this at the gym in town. He lifted too far up and rippen through the canvas ceiling above him.

      >one rep bench press at 20% of my 1RM
Way too much weight. You are going to destroy your joints.
      >10 minute brisk walk
Cardio kills your gains. Slow down man.
      >one bodyweight squat
      one bodyweight lateral raise,
Use bands to reduce weight to half your body weight and you should only do a half rep to protect your knees and shoulders.
      >one lat pulldown at 5% of my 1rm
You don't need to use any weight for lat pulldowns.
Over-training is real. You are pushing yourself far too hard to be able to recover effectively.
