I started to eat a pound of steak with greenbeans everyday for breakfast. So far it's been a week and I feel so much better in my mood and energy. Is there something in red meat that does this? Have I simply just not been getting enough fat/protein in my diet?

I've been on the animal based diet since September this year and I genuinely do not feel like my old self in a great way. Better mood like you said and after the first couple of weeks my energy levels skyrocketted. I hate peddling diets but my advice is to keep a high protein+fat diet and limit carbs to around less than 50g a day and see how you feel in a month.

You don't need to limit carbs at all if you go for quality carbs like parsnip, carrot, squash, rutabaga, sweet potato, Japanese yam, pumpkin, etc. You definitely don't need a massive base of good carbs with a little protein like the conventional "healthy" American diet suggests, but good carbs are good in general.

OP again. I won't post body, I'll just say I'm 6' 3'', 132lbs, and have very little body fat. One of the reasons I've changed my diet.
The reason I started eating steak everyday was because I hadn't had red meat in over a year. Then as soon as I ate my first steak, I was craving it nonstop. Never got cravings like that for poultry of fish, Just red meat.

I have an uncle that never eats processed, barely produces any household garbage at all because he doesn't buy packaged foods, and has had a six pack since I was a kid. Also lol @ high fat high protein. Dump that and supplement the diet with medium carbs for easy clean energy. These meats are all roughly 95:5 protein:fat caloric, or 5% body fat.
Waited til 13:00 and ate 1kg of meatballs and 1L of whole milk. Bout 3000 calories. Gonna take like 6 eggs with some bacon and cheese in the evening perhaps a pancake with the gf. Life is good.

I usually go in the mornings to buy the older stock that's on sale. I eat about $15 a day in groceries all together.
