Technically over-fattniess related health problems start at BMI 23. Overweight limit should be 23. At least Chinese have put it on that scientific limit already.

    BMI doesnt apply to me.
Sure I'm not as skinny I was 20 years ago but I played ball in high school and could bench 400lbs my senior year.
So basically its still mostly muscle under a bit of fat.

Besides volume, what is the difference between 100lbs of fat and 100lbs of muscle? Your body still has to work to support either one.

        >what is the difference between 100lbs of fat and 100lbs of muscle?
What type of fat? Visceral fat is associated with much worse health outcomes than subcutaneous fat while greater muscle mass is associated with better health outcomes such as more caloric expenditure, stronger immune system, delayed onset of sarcopenia etc etc.

I've only heard that BMI is not legitimate because it had European men in mind when it was created.
I'm waiting for a new system made for women and the blacks in mind.

The amount of seething it causes in fatties in hilarious. I’m addicted to antagonizing fat acceptance women on social media and they all believe BMI has been “debunked by science”.
It is a simple ratio of heigh to weight. The more you weigh relative to your frame, the harder it is on your heart.
It doesn’t really matter if it’s fat or muscle as far as the binary yes/no for excessive strain on the heart. That doesn’t mean being fat isn’t worse than being muscular and “obese” by BMI, but being muscular and obese by BMI is still medically more dangerous than being muscular and not obese

I disproved it as scaling properly with height, because people are 3d not 2d. It should have been height^3. A midget with the same BMI as a giant will be fat.
