Wow congrats anon, that’s pretty impressive. My max is 5k in 40 min. I wouldn’t even consider it running, just jogging. Any commentary on your progress?

I ran for the first time the other week and did 5k in 26 mins. I don't train for running but I train at the boxing/kickboxing gym 6 days a week. Would love to start running more consistently in order to up my cardio for sparring rounds. Any tips?

That's actually really good for someone who just started running. Buy some good shoes at a specialized running store and sign up for a marathon in a few months. Working up to being able to run your first 5k without pain and without stopping is literally the hardest part of running but seeing as you can do it 26 minutes already, there is literally nothing stopping you.

I ran a sub 22 5km the other day, I thought it was just whatever. Did I make it and not even realize it?

I did a 5k in 19:30 last week and I'm doing a 10k race this saturday that I hope I can do with an average pace of around 6:45 so probably like 42 minutes. I think my current best 10k time is around 44 minutes but each 10k race I did was either a few years ago when I was much slower or just in absolute shit weather conditions. I'm doing a half for the first time next month and I have no idea what time to aim for but I think a pace of around 7:30/mile should be doable for me.

I've been running off and on for years but always slack off in the winter and lose running gains. I hit a 19:15 5k last year during a race and I was putting in a lot of miles in the month leading up to it. This summer, I mostly just biked and climbed instead of going for runs except for races, and somehow the other forms of exercise were enough to maintain my cardio base.
