You dumb frick. I'm happily married with kids. Fitness now is about staying alive as long as possible to see my kids grow into adults, to play with my grandchildren one day and God willing meet my great grandchildren. And to do it all pain free. I got my woman, I'm on to better goals.

How has fitness changed for you?

To answer OP, the name of the game is work capacity. Lower your intensity, up your volume. More full body work. LISS isn't a dirty word. Mobility work becomes important. All the meme "muh functional" exercises like kettlebells and maces make sense from a soft tissue, rotator cuff/hip health and balance perspective. Unilateral work is important, falls are a huge cause of death for old folks. So start training balance and proprioceptive shit now. And do lots and lots and lots of loaded carries.

Exercised myself out of depression. Managed to finish my CS undergrad and have been working full time ever since.

I have very little time to workout since I started working so at this point I just opted for not being fat (BMI used to be 40+ now it's 26). I do a bunch of cardio.

In terms of dating... No results, but at least I get the occasional flirt. I was fully invisible as a fatty.

Since I mostly just lift to maintain my motivation isn't what it used to be. I lift less frequently and pretty much just make sure it's at least twice a week. I've also had a bulged disc, (actually not from lifting) so I can't do some exercises anymore. I'm still kind of trying to get back into it and regain some motivation but I don't think it's going happen without some incentive. Like if I decided to get on """TRT""" I'd probably make the most of it and take lifting more seriously again but for now it's not an option.

    31 later this month
    >How has fitness changed for you?
I train with my gf (soon fiancee) now. I'm building my own fit wife, it's gonna be great.
I train with a lot more variety, more "autoregulated" based on how I feel, and I'm doing a lot more cardio, mobility work, etc.. I'm much more likely to skip a lift and do something else if it doesn't feel right, and I care a lot more about stretching, staying injury-free, and generally being healthier.
I often have to change to accommodate my work travel, it's always causing issues. Like just this week, I slept in a bad hotel bed, and my back was just FRICKED when I got up. So I started with lower body instead of upper, got things warmed up and stretched, swapped out some back exercises, etc.
I also eat much less processed food, and in a much healthier way in general. My gf cooks me broth, which is comfy.
I dunno man, I feel like I'm always doing a little bit better.

        Anonymous

Frick if I know, dude. I'm in a real pickle with that one. She wants it to be a surprise, and not attached to some other date (e.g. no Valentine's proposal), and not in a super public setting. I want it to be great for her, but I'm not a super romantic guy to begin with, so I'm trying to let it marinate a bit.

Fitness now seems easier than in my 20's because other things in life are harder now, like the impending feeling of losing opportunities to have a family with a woman I love, hair loss, career responsibilities, and aging family members.

The aging family members thing is fricking brutal. I'm starting to wonder how many Christmases I have left with my parents, and it's depressing.

you don't really feel it, it happens so slowly unless you make some major mistakes

like for example peak reaction time is objectively in your early 20s, but you don't "feel" slow when you're older than that even though you are slower

32 and I'm in the best shape of my life. I found running during the pandemic, and though I've spent a lot of time doing sports before, for the first time I actually stuck to a structured training plan for over 6 months. A lot of positive comments on how I look, even though I never 'let myself go' to any great extent

Back in the gym for the winter and enjoying it again. This time I'm paying more attention to joint mobility, which was what put a lid on my progress when I was lifting in my mid-20s.

On the other hand, the hair on my head is gone. Swings and roundabouts.

Shedding/hairline receding, lines on face remain after relaxing from a smile, injuries recover noticeably more slowly. E.g.: my running belt rubbed me wrong on one run, resulting in a small scab ~1 cm in length. 1.5 months later, there is still a barely visible mark in the area.

What to make of this? I'm seeing someone I like. She told me that she's dated at least two guys and 6 months ago she got pumped and dumped by an Italian fashion model in Santorini.

I'm not sure what I expected. I pumped and dumped a few women in my life, probably more than she's been pumped and dumped. But I wish neither of us had tbh.

Thats the way it is bro. Its not fair for you to assume that your future wife is just sitting in a glass box waiting for you and not out living her life. Besides, her having actual life experiences like that make her a more varied and interesting person. Sure you don't want to think about her hooking up with other guys, but at the same time you don't really want an emotionally immature relationship virgin. I believe at least that the key to a strong marriage is being with someone experienced enough to know what they want and to know that you are it.

Honestly, I smile seeing a post like this.
I'm super content with my relationship's in my late teens to late 20s, I had a fairly innocent 3 year relationship with a nice girl until we split due to high school ending
Had a 4 year relationship with a perky blonde girl in college who I adored, she was very pretty and nice most of the times, had some rough spots, nothing too bad though, we split before college ended because we wanted different things after graduation
After her, I met pretty much a straight upgrade from her, hotter, blonder, more fit, more intelligent, 2 years younger. We dated for 4 years until the pandemic and I realized just what life would be like when we slowed down and didn't go out as much. I left and still wonder if I made the right choice sometimes, but seeing what she looks like now certainly helps.
I had 3 young girls that genuinely loved me and loved them back, I will never have to suffer through the slow deterioration of a relationship ever again, and that suits me fine.
Just turned 30 and I still swing my dick around and even get some young ones here and there, but I end up cutting them all lose after a certain point because I've had my fill of actual love and will gladly watch the hours pass by myself when that time comes.
idk call it cope, call me a narcissist, but I've never felt happier.

Turned 31 last week. Definitely feel more nagging injuries than I used to. Shoulder pain especially will just creep up on me fairly regularly.

It may be psychosomatic but I also feel like my test is waning. Definitely not as sexually motivated as I used to be, less able to get it up, and less muscle building during my bulk phases than I used to have. Thought about getting it checked but even if it is low I don't know that I want to jump on to the supplementing it for the rest of my life train yet. That and afraid of losing my hair.

The change hasn’t been huge but most women are nicer to me and most men seem to respect me a bit more.

In order of effectiveness (based on my best guess):
          - 1.25mg of finasteride daily
          - Microneedling weekly with a 1mm needle dermatology
          - 5% minoxidil twice per day
          - Ketoconazole shampoo twice per week

The finasteride is probably responsible for 80% or more of the regrowth if I had to guess.

Men may choose the young cute girl, but women aren't selecting for "cute". They want the rugged lumberjack with leathery hands and poo resudue in his ass hair, or the sharp dressed businessman with a dadbod and dignified, if premature, touches of gray in the temples.

That's not how it started anon. Go back and read the very first response to the thread...which was probably just OP samegayging.

These threads are always the same. Tales of sexual conquest of significantly younger women, usually outrageous claims of income, and banter about how bad young guys are. It's genuinely cringe to read some of the archives where the hugbox goes unchecked.

We come here to share stories tangentially related to fitness because by the time you're 30 you realize fitness is a solved problem
You guys are here because you're procrastinating for the ENG 102 final

I've never felt or looked better, but I'm very lonely. Feels like I'm doing everything else right. I just can't like it up with girls. I fricking do not want to play the phone dating game. I'd rather die alone.

im 32 and my fitness level means nothing. it didnt change my severe social avoidance. imstill a kissless virgin never been on a date. i still have no friends. i still live with my parents. i still have no career. i still have barely any hobbies or skills. i still have no goals or dreams. i still hold this abominably pathetic life because im terrified of everything.

no matter how fit i get, by life will always be horrible. i hope this is the last year of my 30s.

    32 reporting for duty.
Been going to the gym on and off for the past 5 years, you can imagine how my progress (or lack of it) looks like.

The last year I've tried to go as often as I could manage (2 to 4 times a week) but with my shit diet, bad sleeping schedule and other real life obligations i jist managed not to slip back down to hungry skeleton mode.

Now as a father I stopped entirely because I literally dont have time.
I'm just doing pushups at home.

Life is good otherwise, getting myself in shape has deffinetly helped bu5 it wasnt the only thing I kept improving on myself.

The funny thing is that the kids crawling around in this thread think we're all just boomers who started late and are trying to turn their lives around, but I started lifting in 2003 when some of them weren't even born yet, and I've already had the physique for 15 years that they're working towards now.

42 masterrace reporting in for duty. Still get mired hard by early 20s girls, much harder than from the old hags (30+). For some reason the young ones have a thing for cured wiener.

Approaching 35, started lifting at 26. I'm in the best shape I've ever been.
The numbers are lower than what they used to be due to accumulated injuries. Right now my shoulder doesn't allow any progress with OHP and Bench, a knee injury that canceled my squats completely, and a wrist injury that makes pulls and some other exercises painful.

I'm still going to the gym 3 times a week and trying to add swimming and yoga regularly. Having abs and defined muscles at this age really boosts my confidence with young girls

haven't lifted since the memeflu, just siting in front of the screen all day, working, or drinking, started calisthenics about a month or two ago, now introducing weights
