I got turned onto em on when I went thru an Outward Bound type program. Not prison, but for a kid who wasn't athletic? Very nearly.
          Flavor is very nostalgic.

          Bean chips nigguh

Pinto beenz that aren't overnight soaked will still have lectin(an anti-nutrient toxic to animals and humans) unless you boil them for a full hour. Soaked only take 10 minutes to get rid of em, and canned are precooked so there's no issue. Consumption of lectin can make you sick and give you leaky gut, which is a major gains goblin

Not an issue, these r precooked beenz. Thank u beenmann for the info tho

              Also, these are premade beans

If you want to make your own frijoles refritos you can invest in dry pinto beans

There are also old world legumes like lima beans and chickpeas AKA garbanzo beans AKA the key ingredient for the sweet blessing on mankind that is hummus and falafel

    how do you cook them

      Anonymous

Normally in just a regular pan over low heat, add some water, maybe some garlic or salt. Might add that to a burrito that I'll toast or something. Sometimes I'll also turn it into a sandwich where I'll have some beef and maybe some corn or something. Also obviously beans and rice.
      I need more recipes.

You may as well buy chicken or even some beef. But keep doing what you're doing. More beef for me.

but you gotta figure it's $/lb of dry beans with no water. But meat is like 70% water, isn't it? If you dried chicken then it'd almost quadruple in price per pound that way

        Anonymous

Water also costs money. Electricity/gas to cook the beans costs money, meat cooks way faster and is therefore cheaper.

Chicken has a bunch of water weight tho lol
Chicken has ~27g of protein per 100g of meat. Beans have 21g per 100g, and they also have fiber and are low in fat, which isn't important but it makes ketogays seethe so that's pretty based.
Don't get me wrong, chicken goes pretty hard, but beans also go pretty hard.

        Fibre is useless.
The protein value of beans is trash.
21g but IRL its like only 5g because the value is shitty.
Beans are overall trash, too many anti-nutrients also.
