531 turns into a complete meme routine once you read Beyond 531
>do the 531 sets, ie 1 working set per week >then do joker sets, meaning doing maxes like westside >then do first set last, a reverse pyramid >then do 5x10 of 50%
yeah it's pretty dumb
he calls 5x10 "boring but big" as if it's some specialized routine
5x5, 3x10, 5x10 etc are all routines that have been used forever
doing backoff sets with 50% is not something Wendler invented
I don't hate the guy, but I think he just markets normal linear progression and stretches it out to a monthly progression to target more advanced lifters
it works
stop with these moronic fricking programs that americans and redditors keep shilling. EVERY 5x5 program is for american football players, but since americans are moronic they keep using them for everything: bodybuilding, powerlifting, etc.
it IS broken. 5x5 is not a good hypertrophy routine. no bodybuilder in history has used this shit to get an aesthetic body, fricking guess why. because it's not a good routine. stop shilling SL,SS and other reddit routines to people who want to look good.
They actually do advise to do SS/SL (fullbody) for beginners to gain muscles.
OFC no bodybuilder should be doing SS/SL but moronic Black folk like you can't understand these simple, yet basic concept.
>They actually do advise to do SS/SL (fullbody) for beginners to gain muscles.
Yes, and they're WRONG for doing that you dumb fricking Black person. These routines are so shit that even r/fitness redditors have stopped finally shilling them. I've spent three posts trying to explain this to you but at this point your single digit iq is clear as day so I give up.
>These routines are so shit that even r/fitness redditors have stopped finally shilling them.
I couldn't tell you that because I don't frequent there but you do.
and I fell for it too
for like 9 cycles I ran this moronic shit thinking the assistance work was somehow going to make me look any better than stronglifts 5x5 was (which is not at all)
IDK if i look amazing but i'm happy with the results i'm getting from 531
i do the basic program with 2-3 accessories per workout
OHP 95kg
Bench 140kg
Squat 180kg
Deadlift 250kg
I've unironically done 5X10 deadlifts.
Obviously, these are done quite light.
They'll frick you up good, though. Throw them in towards the end of your training cycle.
Also, I'm not a powertard. Just bodybuild as a hobby.
I have been doing 531 for almost two years now, starting to plateau on all main lifts. Should I switch to a hypertrophy routine now? What routine would you suggest?
>meanwhile larry wheels attributes his latest and gr8est deadlift PR to high volume deads
but yeah, if you are a noobie and a natty doing high volume deadllifts is fricking moronic af (not high volume training in general)
yes, stop doing powershitting routines
Why would that be a joke?
>powershitter's idea of hypertrophy training
lol, lmao
Have you even tried doing it OP?
Do them touch and go and it's not so bad

and you do this 4x per week for each lift
This. Then everything has a stupid name on it too that confuses you like he'll just drop FIVES PRO and you're supposed to know that's 5x5.

If it's not broken don't fix it. Something you autists need to learn.

>bu-bu-but r/fitness said
commit suicide
What do they shill for 3 day workouts now?
There's a template in the 5/3/1 Forever book that's 10x5 deadlifts after 5/3/1 deadlifts. Wendler is a moron but even he doesn't do 5/3/1
and I fell for it too
for like 9 cycles I ran this moronic shit thinking the assistance work was somehow going to make me look any better than stronglifts 5x5 was (which is not at all)
Everyone hanging shit on this routine; please post body
I will take your advice and implement it today if you look amazing, serz

Do you do FSL or anything?
No, pretty much the i ain't doing Jack shit one with 3 sets of curls and ab wheel at the end
I've unironically done 5X10 deadlifts.

i did 5/3/1 BBB for a year, and IT FRICKING SUCKS

It is a hypertrophy routine. Keep doing it
Just do RDL instead.
