Without low bf, you’re always going to look shit in the first year of lifting. Just keep going
I do keep going but it is more out of habit than anything else because I am really going nowhere it feels like. I gained weight, okay, but 8 months? Look at me. I don't really know why I lift. It is just a habit at this point.
Forget about aesthetics and lift for strength and general health. That's what I realized a while ago. If I only lifted for aesthetics, I would have given up a long time ago like I did before.
Yes I admit that I still care about how DYEL and out of shape my physique looks but general strength and functionality is more important for me now. I might not change my physique in the long run but I've accepted that and now working out is kind of more fun.
My lifts are going up (very) slowly, so I guess am somewhat improving. But show a newbie my body and say >After ONLY 8 months, you can look like this!
They would be so demoralized.
ay your biceps are going places
you're probably also cutting, it is what it is
Food's always been a bit of an issue. Thanks for the compliment, even though I can't really see it.
I started lifting to look human and it took me a long time to have even a little bit of muscle. If your starting point is bad it will take some time. It helps to somewhat detach yourself from the mirror and not even think about your physique and instead just keep working while blindly trusting the process. I guarantee you that if you lift for 10 years consistently, your physique cannot be terrible.
I will incorporate it, thanks a lot.
Might be a dumb question, but can I dp those on the bed or is it too soft for that? Cause I tried doing them on my floor and my spine got compressed into it, shit hurt.
You mean ab exercises? I don't know, I think the bed might be too soft and you might want to invest in a training mat to make it comfier for your back. I work out at a gym and I just alternate between decline sit-ups and the crunch machine
Lifting is pretty fun right? Really what I'm telling you is to just have fun for a decade and get a good physique in the process. If you find yourself bored, you can try anything, there are hundreds of different methods and training splits. Try the ordinary methods, try obscure methods, HIT, 8x8, 10x10, you name it.

>but general strength and functionality is more important for me now
This is the truth, most dyel looking fuckers I've met in my work were in fact strong and agile as fuck and could snatch up 30kg sacks like they were nothing and they'd do it all day every day with no complaint.
My dad was the same, skinny as fuck but so goddamn deceptively strong, I guess farm life just builds that into you and he could out wrestle, armwrestle or just outperform me in every way even in his late 60s. Still looked like a twig with arms though.
who gives a shit about any of this
i want to look hot so whores want to fuck me >omg he can snatch up a 30kg sack!
no bitch ever said that >omg look at those abs and biceps!
tihs is my goal
>never do core exercises
Train your core directly. Not only does it tremendously improve your overall aesthetics, it makes you more resistant to injury and helps with pretty much all lifts (more rigidity). Don't overcomplicate it, just do a few sets at the end of every workout for example. >never do cardio
While it has no direct impact on your lifts I've found cardio helps a lot with staying intense and working hard in the gym. You'll also feel better. I recommend you try to add some into your routine but the direct core work is a lot more important
I will incorporate it, thanks a lot.

But I thought within that year comes the biggest gains, the newbie gains. I gained 2,5-3kg but that could also all just be fat, cause I'm not seeing any muscle.
Dude, honestly? You should just keep on your program, change your diet to be higher protein/less sugar (natural fats like milk for example are fine), and start working on your obliques/abs. leg raises, weighted side bends, Russian twists, etc.
You're looking really good for 8 months. DOn't lose hope fren.
I appreciate the compliment bro, even if I don't think so myself. I'll keep at it of course. Gonna start training my core too now. If I'm lucky I might look halfway decent until summer.
>It's probably (hopefully) a significant improvement
Oh no, it's totally not. I did gain 2,5-3kg but I kinda look the same and it doesn't even look like I lift
only issue I see is 0 lats, 0 chest, and your body fat is slightly too high to see what you do have underneath. Also, don't neglect abs and obliques if you don't do them already
keep going. you're going to be doing it your whole life

That’s really not bad just keep at it

Same
Do more isolations if you can. Only thing that gave me quick results.

did you fell for the bulking meme
I wouldn't say so, I'm not stuffing my face or anything.
Never do cardio. But I admit, I never do core exercises, anons told me my core already gets trained when I do compounds.

We got another one, boys!
>I never do core exercises, anons told me my core already gets trained when I do compounds.
Heh...
>what do cardio does to a mf
>what no dedicated core does to a mf
If you've never lifted before, it take like a year before you really see a sizable change.
But I thought within that year comes the biggest gains, the newbie gains. I gained 2,5-3kg but that could also all just be fat, cause I'm not seeing any muscle.
Do you have a before picture? It's probably (hopefully) a significant improvement
Sorry, I do not. I was just skinny-skinnyfat.
Dude, honestly? You should just keep on your program, change your diet to be higher protein/less sugar (natural fats like milk for example are fine), and start working on your obliques/abs. leg raises, weighted side bends, Russian twists, etc.

How many sets per muscle group am I supposed to do? I've been doing 20 for a year because you guys told me to, but I think you might be lying
Yeah you still look like shit so what?
Why did you start training - the same reason you should keep training now.
Well said anon
Have you tried working out?
post starting body
if you were skinny this is good enough
8 months how many times a week? how long? what did the befoer look like?
only issue I see is 0 lats, 0 chest, and your body fat is slightly too high to see what you do have underneath. Also, don't neglect abs and obliques if you don't do them already
Let me guess, PPLPPLx?
get a better diet, better scheme, better intensity. 100% sure all 3 are lacking
