They’re the same thing, put Kano above jujutsu and they are the same martial art.

They didn't even learn Jujutsu they learned Judo yet they larp as Jujutsu to have more authentic feel to their technique and muh lineage to samurais.

Brazil bros can never win can they? At least they got capoeira going for them.

They did learn judo but outside of japan it was mostly called kano jujutsu there is evidence of this is a book from 1905 titles judo vs wrestling where the wrestler refers to judo as kano jujutsu and the judoka says in japan we have been referring to it as judo. But the large amount of japanese immigrants to brazil might have still called it kano jujutsu, and since there was no official romanji at the time the brazilians spelled it jiujitsu. They just changed the first part of the name and claimed it was a different art, which it isnt, it was the brazilian style of kano jujutsu which is judo

Probably Judo dude cause being on concrete more than halves the effectiveness of wrestling cause they can't go low enough to be fricking crawling on the ground anymore and tackling higher is less effective

Probably judo man because being on concrete more than doubles the effectiveness of wrestling because they can not go down low enough to be fricking crawling on the ground anymore and tackling up higher isn't as effective

There are several styles of wrestling. Greco Roman wrestling is extremely close to Judo only they use overhook / underhook, elbow grip without gi. A naked Greco Roman wrestler beat a judo man. Judo very good though, wish they made the offering of Judo with no gi. Also, love idea of Judo in Mongolia. They make the training very strenuous.

I've only watched a bit of this, it's pretty good
Whoever wins it doesn't really matter tho since it's anecdotal
I mean 1 match of 2 random guys from different disciplines doesn't really mean dick

I hope the judo guy wins tho, almost triangled the wrestler as soon as he was taken down lmao

Round 2, seems the judo chad (blue?) is way better at the ground game and dominates at that, but the wrestler (red?) seems to be better at throws (presumably because they're basically naked, so it's his home field advantage).
        Interesting match.
If round 2 kept going the wrestler would have been fricked

      Really not a fair fight

        >Any half decent grappler will defeat a striker, *usually*
        Nope.

It depends on the distance at the start of the fight. The usual chest-to-chest macho shit? Wrestler always wins. But the larger the distance, the more it goes to the striker.

Some boxers are very good in the clinch. I think there's a skill level in which if a striker gets good enough take down defense or a grappler gets good enough at getting to the clinch, they both have an extreme advantage at that point.

The kid doing bjj is infinitely better at bjj than the kid doing "Muay Thai" is at muay thai.
Israel Adesanya isn't even a MT fighter but his mma fights are a much better representation of MT vs grappling.

You mean Taihoujutsu? (Arresting techniques) That's the most recently utilized form of jiujutsu, employed by the police etc security forces.

        Anonymous

Taihoujutsu is modernised and suited to police. Original Jujitsu is similar to Judo however Judo is more softer as it removes techniques like redirecting momentums, joint locks, and "dangerous" grapples from Jujitsu

It’s all about the individual, these are two similar arts so it depends on the training each, I will say that the judoka learns more weapons though, if the match isnt ended by a big throw from either side the judoka would probably win 8-9/10 times
