im fasting rn (on a 16/8 leangain during Ramadan) and I notice my lifts were shit when I ate a ton of fried foods the day before for iftaar during a family meetup after refusing to eat that stuff for most of Ramadan. I usually eat hulled barley lamb broth porridge for bulk during the 6 hours eating window, which provided me with a ton of energy for morning gym. But the only time I indulged in desi/Arab fried shit, I couldnt even do 3 sets of my main compound exercises. I just kept gassing out.
So fried processed foods is probably preddy bad too.
A little alcohol every couple days is good for cardiovascular performance. And I do mean a LITTLE. One or two shots of something hard, no beer.

I homebrew beer. I drink a beer or two on the weekends, rarely on the weekdays unless its some sort of celebration.
I also love cocktails, but I have to go to cocktail bar for that, which I do like once every month or 2. Rarely my fiance and I like to get shitfaced while cooking dinner and end up just being silly drunks together and drunk-fucking later, but we're too old to do that shit more than once in a blue moon (hangovers).
In moderation I found no impact on my strength gains honestly. Sugar/preprocessed food has wrecked my shit far more often.
