Anyone here had braces as an adult (+25)?
I'm thinking of biting the the bullet and getting them at this point of my life. But I'm afraid it might steal my social gains..
It's not really that bad. You only have them for like a year, maybe year and a half tops. Then you get to have a solid smile for the rest of your life.
I only had one person comment on it and it was when he was trying to steal a girl away from me in a conversation at a party.
>woah dude you have BRACES?
>Is that really what you want to talk about? I'm not going to make out with you.
>Did you feel it fricked up you diet/lifts because of the constant cleaning and maintenance you had to do?
What maintenance? Just brush your teeth as is normal.
Also very likely your teeth will go back to being shit after a year or two once they're off. Braces don't actually restructure your bones, they just force them into different places and they'll drift back to their natural positions eventually.
It's a batch to floss so I got a water pik, never went back. That's about it. Some foods were painful to chew after adjustment but you'll get over it (if you're not a b***h)
Am 25 and getting them put in later this month, estimated to need them for under a year if all goes well
Talking will probably take some adjustment but will be worth it, I'm a mute anyway
You guys are lucky, I
Got mine setup at 29, lost my virginity and had 2 gfs with them, girls didn't even notice them until I told them. Just maintain a proper hygiene.
Go for them, the earlier you get them, the better. Having normal teeth and smile is a huge confidence booster.
had to wear mine for 2 years (dentist also told me that's about an average time among everyone).

Dental israelites always suggested it but I never took it. My slight underbite never caused me any problems and I don’t want to frick things up just for a pipe dream.
I got braces at 23 because I knew it was now or never, I want a good smile and I was done coping. Just bite the bullet it'll be either 1 or 2 yrs. And who cares what others think of you. They can go rope themselves

>decent teeth aesthetically from front, never check profile as a kid, never notice I have overbite because chin/jaw somewhat compensates >never consider getting braces despite dentist offering it >develop TMD and tinnitus >too old to get braces and correct bite without surgery >surgery has higher chance of worsening TMD than bettering it >stuck with scuffed teeth and jaw problems, have to sleep with mouth splint
life is suffering
I've had em in the past, at like 20yo for like a year. Then I went unemployed and never went back to the dentist. I removed them at 24yo when removing my wisdom teeth. Thinking of getting back on it now at 25 since one side of my face is definitely not symmetrical.

I have an overbite as well so I imagine Invisalign would just take a shitload of time to fix it.

Planning to get invisalign this year to correct my crowded front teeth and overbite. I will not wear the headgear or ugly wire braces.

it's not 90s bro. current year shit is invisible.

Absolute homosexual if you do. Everyone will laugh behind your back and go home tell their friends "haha I saw a 30 year old with braces wtf"

were you using gray or white braces?
if it was that bad you should've had them as a kid
my bottom row are slightly crowded by my top row are perfectly straight, I can live with that
you are still a kid at 25. Get them. Its better having bad teeth with braces then it is to have bad teeth and no braces

I'm 27, will be 28 this year
I'll get braces this year most likely, I got fricked over by an orthodontist in my teens
I'm CONSTANTLY insecure about my teeth even though they're not horrible and I'm a team manager/lead at a company where I work at
I just want to fricking smile and not worry about showing my teeth too much
just fricking do it anon and don't look back, it's not worth the insecurity and lack of self-worth that it brings
