    >Being physically strong and big doesn't matter in a place where your social status is mostly decided by how physically strong and big you are

Sorry, I don't live where you live. Our prisons aren't horrible shitholes.

the only three things that matter in jail are :
      >social status (socio-demographics, criminal record, health and age, emotional intelligence)
      >political competence (conflict resolution, making alliances, building long lasting friendships, problem solving, diplomacy, trading, deals)
      >buyer or consumer power (being a good supplier or provider of goods and services, or having a stream of income)

You also can't be a b***h. You don't have to be He-Man, but if someone crosses you then you MUST fight them. It helps to be strong and know how to fight. People are less likely to cross you if you look big and scary

I think you mean prison. Jails don't have gyms.

Nah there's always something to do in prison. If that wasn't a typo and you actually meant jail then yeah there ain't shit to do in jail but lay around and await trial in the most boring and least accommodating portion of the system. If you actually meant prison then you can:

      -gather info
      -read books
-move stuff around for people, smuggling
-work on your business (tattooing, laundry, drugs, etc.)
      -make bets
      -college courses/certifications
      -teaching a class
-filing appeals and talking to lawyer
-making phone calls to the free world
-get fricked up on drugs for fun/partying
      -buying stuff in commissary
      -writing a book
-sharpening random shit into a shiv
-chilling with other inmates so they like you
-forming alliances or other political ties
-form a doo wop group with the biggest motherfrickers for keks

      The possibilities are endless

in my country jail and prison mean the same thing but they have pool tables, libraries and xboxes in there
but still there isn't that much to do other than hit the gym most of the day, activities are limited for a reason
also raep and gang violence rarely happens in our prisons but i have heard that drugs are everywhere in them

What country? That system sounds pretty great if you can play Xbox and pool and it's also chill.

Everything in the US is gangs. Every aspect of the prisons are controlled by them. The guards are not in control, they just have to make sure the prisoners don't escape. Other than that they are pawns. You can also get any kind of drug in prison. Money flows through the system like water. All drugs come in and get sold at a significant markup too, like 20x-30x what they run on the street

uk, never been to prison but I knew a guy who did, most crimes seem to be punished with community service around here

            Probably Norway or some shit

no norway is just ridiculous, it's basically daycare
I don't think prison should be fun but I don't think criminals should be getting raped and stabbed by each other in there, defeats the purpose of rehabilitation

I honestly think all crimes from personal theft upwards should be punished with death as long as it can 100% be proven, otherwise they should be rehabilitated

no you don't want to give even more power to the government
the cops will falsify evidence and commit perjury in court
we're better off with the deal as it is
even with some bad seeds not meeting their justice
trust me when I say they'd be literally using anything and everything against you
you'd just have to wrong the wrong people

if they could get you a death sentence and only need to frame you for something easily falsifiable like bank or tax fraud, we'd be in deep shit.

In my country any one of those things would cause lots of fights, we can hardly have cards, domino's or TV in Jails here without them causing fights.

    ...no?
The more healthy and fit you are the better you'd SURVIVE in jail, it's a primal environment, bedt to be physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy, as much as possible.

It actually matters in there. I saw one documentary years ago about some teens who went to prison and one of them was a fat dopey kid. When he went out onto the yard the other inmates all gathered around and made fun of him because he couldn't leg press his own bodyweight. You can imagine things didn't go well for him from that moment on.

The problem wasn't just that he was weak physically it's that he allowed himself to be a target there's skinny small dudes who aren't targeted but the minute a guy let's a big circle form around him like that and is getting picked on and doesn't put an end to it other people notice. Next thing you know people are gonna be extorting you and shit. It's not just the weak guys who get fricked in jail it's the guys with no spine and the autists who can't speak up.

Rarely do you wake up to bullying in there out of the blue that isn't playful shit usually you have to let it get to the point where you're looked at as the pods b***h boy.
