Greens and fiber aren't important, should add some steaks to that tho with potatoes, rice, fruit. All meals cooked with saturated fat and not see oil of course

Fiber is the most important, if you wanna have a healthy heart. It's not just for pooping, fermentable fiber is a fuel for your colon's microbiota.

Also rice is nice, as long as it's whole rice, but legumes are better. Potatoes are meh. Fruit isn't as good as they say it is, and saturated fat isn't as bad as they say.

        Anonymous

Whole rice is a gut buster and the antinutrients prevent some absorption of the nutrients in the rice. It's the one time where the extra processing results in a superior food. Fiber is a complete meme, eating green rufgaye for the sake of "fiber" is pointless unless you feel the need to make your colon push plant mattwr through you

          Anonymous

you need to stop with muh antinutrients meme. Yeah they do prevent some absorption, which means nothing since you're eating a lot of it, in addition to other foods. Extra processing never results in a superior food. By processing you lose most of the magnesium and B1 vitamin. Why do you think Beri Beri happened in China? It's a B1 deficiency. They have to artificially add the B1 to white rice, cause it's so nutrientless.

Kek. Carnivores are the new vegans. However carnivore's probably more fun than vegan, since cholesterol's good for making hormones, not to mention carnitine and all of those nice aminos. However it's also unhealthy long term, unless you do a lot of fasting. Not too sure about the gut flushing all bacteria out equation though.

I don't need your fasting, 2 meals a day. I am not moronic and can count calories

      Anonymous

Fasting is not only about weight management. You don't need to count any calories at all if you're not a freakshow of insulin resistance who can't even trust his brain to tell him when it's time to stop.

        Anonymous

don't spread bullshit like this you still need to account for calories. maybe you're a skinny homosexual hard gainer who struggle to eat but I can easily eat over maintenance in a single meal if I want to

          Anonymous

He's right though. If you're doing IF for consecutive days that doesn't happen. I can over eat and end up losing weight in the scale later.

            Anonymous

no IF doesn't magically change the laws of physics it's more likely you implemented the diet and subconsciously did more activity or consumed less from the smaller eating window. if not at what point of excess can you push to prove your point? can you double your caloric intake and still say you will not gain?

I'm sure our hunter gatherer ancestors had an excel table of calories for everything they ate, lmao

what's your point you fricking moron our ancestors were also not trying to maintain low bodyfat and did not have the same access to food and conveniences

              Anonymous

Have you ever thought maybe this easy access to all types of unhealthy and unnatural foods is what's making you having to eat 5 times a day, genius?

Not the guy you're replying to here, but
              >no IF doesn't magically change the laws of physics
Our bodies are a little more complicated than basic physics. You burn a hell of a lot more fat with a larger window of not eating, because your body is forced to enter ketosis when you start running out of easy access glycogen stores.

Also you would have to literally force food down your throat way past satiation to get fat on IF.

Idk how anyone can eat more than one serving of broccoli. I get bloating with just half a serving. This is the only family of veggies I don't eat. Maybe sauerkraut sometimes, for the probiotics, but not a lot.

I've just had my OMAD consisting of:

    - 300g of spinach
    - 300g of asparagus with 3 eggs
    - 2 artichokes with 25g of lentils
    - 200g of mushrooms
    - 300g of celery raw stalks
    Everything dipped in olive oil
And a big portion of salmon for most of my protein, a bit of saturated fat and omega 3s

    Life is good.

Quick noob question about weight loss, 4 weeks ago I seriously started cutting carbs, stopped eating candy (only on saturday to ween myself off slowly) and upped my vegetable intake. Gym 3 times a week.
I already feel better and a bit "lighter", very noticable when I put on pants, good sleep etc. BUT when I weigh myself... it says I'm gaining 0,3 kg per week.
So could it be because I'm building muscle? It's really weird that the bottom line is + 0,3 kg a week... what's happening brehs

      how much carbs? intermittent fasting?

Could be muscle mass yeah, are you progressing on the gym?

        >how much carbs? intermittent fasting?
I admit I'm not really counting, but apart from a few slices of bread my meals are mostly greens, fruit, cheese and meat. I don't eat before noon, two meals a day.
However, I might be overdoing it because this week I had an "incident" where I devoured a cheeseburger with fries, but I will get a grip and continue.

        >Could be muscle mass yeah, are you progressing on the gym?
I'm slightly increasing the weight every week, so three days then +0,5 kg

Feeling lighter is a good symptom that your body is more balanced. Some tissues are even aging backwards. It's being young basically.

Ok that's good to hear. Like I said, I must be losing fat, it's really obvious with pants and belts but the scale says I'm heavier. I only have a normal scale, not the ones that measure body fat.

Could be just that you're accumulating fat in different places too. Try eating gluten free bread btw. Gluten causes bowel permeability which allows LPS (endotoxin) into the bloodstream which causes chronic inflammation, which in turn is one of the factors for atherosclerosis.

Additionally, they do not taste like shit if you're a good cook. and if you wean yourself off of all the sugary crap that's altering your perception of what's tasty.

how's that even possible? How many times a day do you eat?

Why do healthy foods taste like shit? You would think that your body would release endorphins when you eat something that's healthy

It makes more sense that sugary foods taste better because we metabolize sugar almost instantly. Your body wants to be in a state of energy overflow.

Makes sense that fasting and foods we would eat whilst fasting (because we werent successful at hunting that day) are good for us. Our bodies have evolved to function in a state of adversity most of the time.

I eat a ton of spring greens because I'm on a ketogenic cut I get about 400ug from my multi-vitamin and like 600+ug from the greens I have days where I'm pushing 300% of the RDA and I learned that's bad for your brain.

Why are you even having a multivitamin in the first place if you're eating enough vegetables?

mainly to cover metals since my diet is not particularly rich in zinc, copper, magnesium right now

              >magnesium
leafy greens have a ton of magnesium, what are you on about? Is it because you're eating them all raw and that fricks up absorption?

The rest of those you can easily get if you eat organs, oysters for zinc and copper, cacao powder is also pretty good for copper

the only supplement I find to be convenient is zinc, tbh, if you dont like shellfish too much and dont wanna eat a ton of red meat to meet the RDA

Btw, leafy greens are nice and all but try to add other vegetables and fungi. Variety is key. I'm not stricly keto because I don't count my carbs, but probably not far off. The only high carb veggie I eat are like 30g of lentils, which is like 10g of carbs.
