i am taking creatine, im saying weight lifting probably increases DHT (which causes hair loss) more than creatine. i would rather go bald and keep lifting though

Is creatine worth taking if youre just a hobby lifter? I only go to the gym 2 times a week with a very lax routine, I dont lift to get insanely buff just to look decent and feel good. I started about 6 months ago and Ive been natty the entire time only drinking protein shakes, should I take creatine?
Im only 20, are there any side effects or negatives I should be aware of?
Water weight and having to piss a lot are the only real side effects imo. Its naturally found in meats and produced by your body so dont worry about it making you not natty. If you have money to spare i think its worth it
I've cycled creatine for a couple months now. 2g morning, 2g evening. Things to note:
>decide im going to leave the natty word behind >purchase 300g online via TOR. Use BTC as payment and have it shipped in discrete packaging >Day 7 - package arrives concealed. Lots of tape and a mysterious QR code as the senders address >get nervous.. worried people might know I've got it in my possession >later that night I open the package, see 300g of crystal powder and know things are about to get serious >weight out 2g on my scales and funnel it into my protein shake >heregoesnothing.jpg >Drink a couple sips and immediately feel it cursing through my veins >heart rate increases, pupils dilate >start panicking, can't handle the first hit and keeping composure isn't viable >gf hears the commotion and runs into the kitchen >A-anon w-what... >immediately feel a sudden urge of anger, turn around and throw a hail Marry right hook towards gfs face >her nose takes the full force of the impact and she crumbles to the ground screaming >run out of the apartment screaming "yeah brah, frick yeah brah" >neighbour's call the police >arrested and charged with male to female assault
I've been using creatine for the last 5 or 6 years uninterruptedly, and my hair is as strong strong as ever. I have to cut it every week otherwise it just grows too fast.

There are literally no side effects and you get a 5%~10% improvement on performance (stronger, less rest needed between sets, which allows you to train harder).
5g a day if you're an average individual, 10g a day if you're on the heavier side.
There's also no need to cycle it
In order for you to get the benefits of creatine you need to fully saturate your muscles with it, which will take around 2 or 3 weeks to happen. At this point if you stop taking it, it might take another couple of weeks to fully desaturate and lose its benefits. Yet again, if you're at a point where you're worried you might skip a whole week of training, creatine isn't solving shit, you have to focus on getting consistent first. At the level you're at, gaining consistency with your training and diet, hitting your macros etc will do miracles, creatine will just give you a small boost.

This guys probably right. Hair loss is really common these days regardless. I try to avoid conspiracies but there’s definitely something up. It’s seriously 100% of the guys I went to high school with. Fit is unironically the only reason I was saved. Did dermapenning and minoxidil religiously for a year and my hair is still pretty good. But 100% of guys I know are at least mildly balding. Anyway to get back to the point I’d say most likely not, people are just looking for a scapegoat
Pretty much this. Creatine is not gonna make you go bald, aging is.
You're gonna go bald anyways, it's how things are. The real question is: do you want to become a buff bald guy, or a skinnyfat bald guy?
>The vast majority of speculation regarding the relationship between creatine supplementation and hair loss/baldness stems from a single study by van der Merwe et al. [61] where college-aged male rugby players who supplemented with creatine (25 g/day for 7 days, followed by 5 g/day thereafter for an additional 14 days) experienced an increase in serum dihydrotestosterone (DHT) concentrations over time. Specifically, DHT increased by 56% after the seven-day loading period, and remained 40% above baseline values after the 14-day maintenance period. These results were statistically significant compared to when the subjects consumed a placebo (50 g of glucose per day for 7 days, followed by 30 g/day for 14 days thereafter). Given that changes in these hormones, particularly DHT, have been linked to some (but not all) occurrences of hair loss/baldness [62], the theory that creatine supplementation leads to hair loss / baldness gained some momentum and this potential link continues to be a common question / myth today. It is important to note that the results of van der Merwe et al. [61] have not been replicated, and that intense resistance exercise itself can cause increases in these androgenic hormones.
>To date, 12 other studies have investigated the effects of creatine supplementation (i.e. doses ranging from 3-25 g/day for 6 days to 12 weeks) on testosterone. Two studies reported small, physiologically insignificant increases in total testosterone after six and seven days of supplementation [65, 66], while the remaining ten studies reported no change in testosterone concentrations. In five of these studies [67–71], free testosterone, which the body uses to produce DHT, was also measured and no increases were found.
did it make you bald or lose hair? i dont want to be bald by 23. im only 21

Creatine. Not even once.

creatine is not the differentiator if you're already predisposed to losing your hair
