Don't hit your head. Concussions kill your gains

I'm fricking serious. Even small concussions can cause depression and mental illnesses that steal your gains and make you suicidal
Don't let some dipshit knock you wiener just for mock combat

This guy is right, from experience. Every gym ive been to theres been at least 1 dude in sparring who goes too hard. It stops being fun when youre getting hit in the head all the time - you need complete disregard for your health and get ready for constant headaches if you want to spar hard.
light sparring is fun of course with the right partner. And smashing the pads (muay thai) is awesome.

I want to learn to box in case some schizo randomly attacks me but I feel like boxing gyms are probably full of morons with nothing to lose and will go all out and try to give you brain damage or break your nose if you hit them a little too hard by accident.

idk anything about it but if you just get a bag does that not just reinforce any bad habits you have?

Just say you want to spar lightly and if the moron doesn't get it avoid sparring with him.
Most guys spar lightly most of the time so no one will find it weird. The gym I go to is in a pretty ghetto neighborhood and the guys at the gym are fine. Even moronic drug dealers know better than to start shit with a bunch of boxers.

I'm getting into Judo after finishing my exams in August. I used to do Ninjutsu for like 8 years when I was a kid but the fact that there is zero sparring put me off.

Stupid tactic. All that matters in the modern age is firepower. I’m focused on getting as big and jacked as possible to be intimidating and have natural body defenses against punches. I’m 5’8 and already 250 pounds of pure meat. As for self defense training I constantly go to the range and practice with my Glock-17, Colt 1911, and Sig P320. I am carrying each of these lethal machines on my body at all times (yes even in no gun zones I know my constitutional rights). If any frickhead even thinks of attacking me they’ll have their head blown clean off. I also carry no less than 8 different knives of various designs and sizes such as Kara bits and balisong and Bowie and military fixed blade on my body as well. You never know when a non lethal approach is needed.

I took up muay thai. For me it's a great boost for confidence and motivation. It's also great for abs and cardio.
