    I think of it like this. The difficulty of the game increases, but you're not comparing yourself against 20s, your comparing yourself against others in your age group. If you still mog the average guy in your age group then you're doing great.
    Also I've needed to be more careful with diet sleep and rest as I've become old. Cut out all alcohol if you haven't already, it really drains energy and lowers test.

    Same way you did in your 20s, but you have to listen to your body.
    For instance, if I have a terrible night's sleep, then it's best for me not to go to the gym and lift heavy or I'll be rekt the next day. Just things like that you learn.
    The good thing is that even if you're DYEL you will mog most of your colleagues and other people in your age cohort. I'm 35 and went back to school and am in better shape than any of the 20-somethings on my program.

Down 20lbs since the new year with another 20 to go, then I'd like to bulk up a bit. it all seems to be common sense sorta stuff: eat right, exercise 3 to 4 days a week, do not drink too much. but really what said. oh, and don't give work any more of yourself that you have to. and also start a skincare routine.

Maybe I’m just a freak of nature, but— even in my early 30’s— I can manage 3.5 hours of fricking and between 2-3 orgasms, if the conditions are right.     Broaden the range of exercise you're doing, and be mindful of safety and recovery. Just keep doing it. You might need to do lower volume, but your recovery needs at 35 shouldn't really be that different from 30.

    I think most of the issues people experience in their thirties are from becoming sedentary at home and being chained to a desk at their job. That, and bad diet and sleep.
    I recommend the book Born to Move. It's about keeping your body healthy and moving well through the later years of life.

    Eat clean, lift weights, do some cardio.
    Also get regular check ups with GP and go to specialists as necessary to deal with whatever crops up rather than just ignoring it and letting issues get worse.

    Only if you let them. You're allowed to make decisions for yourself. I avoid taking medication if at all possible. For my fricked up joints and back from military, that meant physical therapy. Doesn't fix it, but makes it manageable in the long-term.
    And if your mental health is in the shitter, try therapy. Therapists can only talk, physchologists can officially diagnose and psychiatrists can prescribe meds. To a hammer, everything looks like a nail, so avoid psychiatrists or they'll just push meds on you. I started going to therapy a year and a half ago for ptsd (also military). Doesn't fix it either, but has helped teach me how to manage it.

    There is no difference from when I was 20, I lifted at ages 17-20 then stopped completely, returned to it at 28-29 and now at 30 I am stronger than I was at my peak at 20. 1/2/3/4 for reps except for the squat.

    If anything I am running more brutal programming, I do full body x4 a week. I did take my sweet time rebuilding my squat and deadlift, didn't rush anything. I don't yolo stuff, and I have stayed relatively injury free (small tweaks here and there are part of the game).
    I am pushing for 4/3/5, deadlift will be easy, bench will take some time but is doable, squat is the hard one.

        I started at 40kg with both squats and deadlifts, +2.5/5kg every session. In the first year back I think I only did high rep RDLs, I kept doing that until I was at 100kg+ for sets of 10 before I started to pull from the floor.

            I did SS when I was 17-18, it was from that.
            I also parked the weight any time I had significant form deviation, it legit took me a year to learn how to squat again competently. Now I am moving big weights again in all lifts. Slow and steady is fast.

    i switched to training with rings for upper body, and for lower i just do BSS, kb swings and seated good mornings. and for core i just do some "5 minute core workout for calisthenics" daily. cardio is jump rope. seems to work fine for me without draining me completely and fricking up my joints. ULxULxx, rest days are usually jump rope,seated gms and deadhangs to unfrick my hips and back

                i was scared of that aswell when i tried to figure out if you should bulk or cut first, from what ive seen and heard you will loose strength and a bit of muscle, not so much that you will cry yourself to sleep at night but just a little amount of muscle and strength. your plan seems pretty solid, itl take a bit longer to loose the fat but the muscle loss will be minimal compared to normal cuts. keep at it and itl be worth it. without seeing you or knowing your bf% it might take a bit longer than 3-4 months depending how low you want the fat to be. you probably have a good base now so cutting down to 12-15% and then bulk slowly i think it will do wonders.

Once I get to 185 should I cut even more... and then bulk up maybe 10 lbs or so? my ultimate goal is to be somewhat fit, not skinny fat.. and it sounds like I need to continue to cut, and then eventually bulk.         dont worry about your weight much(aside from calorie counting) since youre cutting, cut until you see a sixpack or until you feel satisfied. then do a slow bulk, 200-400 over maintenance and eat clean, if you still drink and eat shit most of the week keep at 200 the days you can if you can keep it clean 400 is fine. and when i say clean i mean dont fricking touch a soda or any candy, no fast food. only home cooked.

    I get up every hour or so and I alternate between HIIT and LISS cardio but really just enough so it doesn't interfere with lifting. I still lift heavy but I sometimes specialize on some lifts for a few weeks. If something doesn't feel right I work around it. I also drink more water and take my vitamins and minerals.

    I lift heavy, run a lot, don’t eat carbs, and only eat one huge meal every day in the afternoon after I finish all of my exercise.

        Frick yeah. I'm 31 soon 32 and doing WAY better than my pot-smoking coomer 20s. I get up at 5:30 every morning to go to the gym and lift for 1.5 hours. Suffering is purpose. It keeps the suicidal thoughts at bay. People keep pointing out that I'm getting bigger and packing on muscle.

        I still don't feel much in my dick though. I just about ripped it off from cooming too much.

    Moving my ass every day, no fuarking excuses. Right now it's calisthenics with a pinch of running. Really need to get back to swimming though. I *should* work on my mobility and do rehab on top of what I'm already doing but I can't be arsed.

    Limiting sitting time and being mindful of posture. 20+ of hardcore gaymen fricked up my right wrist, elbow and aggravated or even caused 3 herniated discs.

    Not getting too heavy, even if it's muscle. I'm 86kg/188cm but striving for 81kg. Yes, being victim weight sucks but it is what it is. My back can't take it.

    I’m 33 and I’ve come to the realisation that I probably shouldn’t be having sex more than twice per week otherwise I’m just drained and meek.

    I also really need to up the rest duration between intense workouts.

    Lastly and perhaps most importantly - good cardio and a strong heart is imperative to mood and energy as a 30+ year old. By all means lift but cardio and conditioning should become a priority for wellbeing.

    At 38 my knee is already busted, lower back is in constant pain, right shoulder clicks, and recurring hemorrhoids. Lifting was a mistake. All I hope is to get to lower end of normal weight to at least make knee and lower back pain alleviate like that.

    Always have a problem with either getting hurt and quitting or losing interest for too long and quitting.
    Stopped exercising for 3 months.
    Now I've been doing kettlebell swings every day it's been 2 weeks of this so far. The swings are making me feel more flexible even tho I don't stretch at all. I use a 24kg and a 32kg bell.

Since you can't recover from the same volumes a younger person could do without ruining your sleep or running into tendonopathies. That's it, by now you should have the diet and drinking discipline sorted so that's not a big deal. 40 is statistically the peak for most endurance athletes so start working on a triathlon or whatever if you want any of those accomplishments before you're old old not that you can't still do them when you're 70.

    I fast 16+ hours every day
    Other than that I haven't changed anything since I was 15, other than cutting shit out, I don't smoke/vape anymore, I drink once or twice per year and even then its like 1 glass of wine

    I work out 4 days per week and go for a max lift every workout for a single. I’m pretty weak, 180kg squat, 220kg DL, 5x5 100kg bench, 70kg press. I try to hit these numbers every week.

    I have a wife, house, two daughters and a good job. I have sex with my wife every night and go to bed around 2130. I shower every day but barely use anything else than soap. Shampoo if my hair feel bad. I don’t use any cologne only deodorant.

    Frankly i think aside from weight (more now) and better form, i dont lift much different than in my 20s.
    I think i am much stronger now, i feel noticeable endorfin and test surge after gym, i either go by 3x week heavier routine or do 1 hour rather intense every workday morning.

    I definitely have more spring in my legs and can lift noticeably more w my back.

    As i got older i started looking after rest periods more (i mean betweek gym). It feels better when i rest and relax properly instead of partying and alike. If i dont rest i start having peoblems w sleep, joints, overall vibe.

    Cons: i have a sitting job so i can feel that gym and back workouts are the only thing that makes me not develop fricked up spine.
    Dont do leg extensions - i jumped to 1rm long ago and imho damaged my knees a bit.
    Pros:
    I can run more and row more intensly.

    Aiming to do mma in summer.
    I still frick like a wild dog and never had any problems w rhat.
    Im not a natural chad, just average country/city dude.

    Health tips:
    >eat balanced, like eggs, vegetables, meat, potatoes
    >drink a lot
    >relax. Stress is an extreme killer!!!! Frick the world, stop caring.
    >avoid smoking and drinking.
    >balance your work and free time
    >learn how to sleep better. This alone was a gamechanger for me.

    A lot of people are saying sleep and they're right. Related is that your body doesn't process caffeine as well as it does in your 20s, somewhere around 32 I stopped being able to do energy drinks and multiple cups of coffee. Now I'll usually have one cup of coffee to facilitate a good morning shit, then switch to green tea until noon or so, then no caffeine after that.
