Any useful routines i could do with a sword or axe??
Something for strength or hypertrophy or at least mobility& strengthening the tendons

I wanna buy a medieval weapon and actually use it in my home gym as part of my workouts.

Better get a mace. There are meme workouts using maces. Swords are somewhat heavy, but not on purpose.
Also maybe get into throwing spears (obviously not in your home gym)

I guess you're right about the maces, but i don't find them as pleasing aesthetically speaking. I'm thinking an axe could serve a similar function to a mace. Would be awesome to have it as part of the decoration and then actually use it for something practical
      Picrel is my home gym

just stop larping and do you exercise and gay sword shit separately

Uhh excuse me sir, but larping is the whole point here.
Well, half the point. Because i also want gains from it

Stop trying to be a trad weirdo & lift weights like a normal person

I already lift weights. Now i wanna have fun larping as Conan and strengthen my shoulders and forearms

Ah I remember this room. 2x2 meters doesnt give enough room for any sword worthwhile. I had a (not sharpened) sword, and it alone was 1,60m long. Plus your arm length and you cant even swing it in there.
Go and do your larp outside. And dont tell me a mace and the injuries it delivers isnt barbarian aesthetic as frick.

          Hahaha, holy shit!

Yeah you're right about practicing outside.
Damn. I'm just so autistic i wanna stay in my cave. But alas I'll have to spread my autism to the nearby park.

Was there some routine you followed with that sword? Also how heavy was it?

Nope, just swinging it around and combatting imagined enemies when playing alone in the fields and woods. I was a chubby teenager and had no interest in sports.
My standard barbell without weight is much heavier.
Sadly the guys training historic swordfighting in my town look pretty DYEL and nerdy and their swords are the gay looking rapiers, so I couldnt be fricked yet to get into it.

      Seconding mace.
It can be used for mace workouts which improve mobility and recovery.

It's not the most aesthetic weapon but it's functional.
Also, imagine braining a home intruder with a hunk of steel on a stick. Peak alpha dominance.

Second choice would be a warpick for the same reasons.

If you want to become genuinely skilled with the handling of medieval weaponry, absolutely do not listen to these mongrels replying “just lift bro.” A large, muscular swordsman is weaker than a lean, smaller, and nimble swordsman.

You must practice with your weapon for long sessions every day, which will help develop the specific movements and muscles needed to properly wield a medieval weapon. Good luck

Well if I'm honest i just wanna get shoulder and forearm strength (maybe also improved flexibility??) While larping as Guts or Conan.
Also i need something for the right wall of my home gym.
I think a battle axe would look wicked!

      Cool stuff!! Watched both videos
Meyer's square looks like hours of fun.
I'm guessing it works for one-handed weapons too, right?
Since i want equal development in left arm and right arm I'm thinking of using a gladius to do 500 cuts with right arm and 500 with the left.

Chopping wood with axe is one of the most physical activities you can do.

      Also burns calories like mad

Winter is coming and the gas pipeline exploded. I think we all gonna do it :*~~

Longsword training is pretty based if you can find a decent HEMA club. And by decent I mean one that treats swordfighting as a proper martial art (physical conditioning, grappling, disarming, etc.). Very competitive and entertaining done the right way.

    Just avoid dad/nerd clubs.

To help with shoulder strength grasping a kettle bell and moving it around your head will help avoid injury. I'd say get a sledgehammer and hit a tire from different angles, this will help build the forearm and tendons you're looking for, if larping is what gets you to be less of a dyel b***h then do it gay
