Anybody else /custom made gym equipment/?

Tired of punching a rust bar so making a heavy bag hangar out of some wood I found by the dumpster.

I'm shocked it supported the weight without snapping.

It made a lot of noise but it held up the first day with about 15 minutes of use.

I’m no carpenter, but can you build a second support and have the top beam connecting that and the pipe?

I don't own the basketball court I just live directly next to it and nobody uses it, trying to make it detachable or I coulda made it more sturdy.

I think I could honestly just put a couple blocks of wood on the back side and put a few wood screws together and it'd hold it to the bar secure with tension until the board gets wet/expands since they're un treated. I don't know I'm not a carpenter either I'm a handyman at best.

I don't own the basketball court I just live next to it and nobody uses it, especially right now with all the rain and snow.

That's not a wood saw you fricking idiot.

What you want me to snap them in half with my knee until I get the right size then? It's all I had on hand and it worked fine, regardless of its real purpose.

            >Repeating myself because I'm not paying any attention.

lol you shouldve used the wood screws on the small scraps of wood and the nails on the longer pieces. less likely to split down the grain.

kudos for trying though, i could make some amazing equipment but im lazy. least i should do is make a bench

Yeah, my drill died and I swapped to nails half way through while it was charging I was going to use wood screws on the entire thing.

I have claimed to be good at many things, but punching isn't one of them.

Good luck backing up with one foot off the ground, goober

Yeah, noticed that. My slippers have zero traction and it's wet, I probably should have changed shoes before testing it just in case but I was lazy. Was a lot more steady when I actually started using it and besides the creaking and scraping of drill bit on rusty metal it was fine. Decent little short workout, less than I wanted but I did plenty of sawing and hammering so I'll call it good.

Seems like a lot of cope happening. Just go to a boxing gym for 6 months or so and get fundamental technique down anon. There's no shame in not understanding how to punch well if youve never trained

              >Boxing gym
I think the only gym for anything besides treadmills around my small town is a BJJ "gym" like 30 miles away that I'm pretty sure isn't real.

It's fine, I'm not claiming to be good but it's not like I was trying to look good in a 1 second webm.

Built during covid. Got some good use out of it tbh. Actually preferred using it to a rack because it took up way less space.

Please tell me it's bolted to the ground through the buckets or something.

        Anonymous

Nah. The buckets were full of concrete and the wood was concreted in and screwed together. The sand was just to add extra weight. Each bucket weighed like 30-40kg. They barely moved. The plates were just a quick easy way to make 20kg / 45lbs of weight back when equipment was like gold dust.
