anyone else see these young skinny guys at gym that lift same weight every single time? there is this guy that benches 30 kg for months and i always think - how is that even possible? i dont even think its a sleep/nutrition problem, it just looks like he doesnt know he is supposed to keep increasing the weight

Maybe he's just doing maintenance as opposed to strength building.
what are they maintaining? 30 kg bench? LOL
Does seem a bit low, but in theory if someone didn't want to get bigger or flabby, it makes sense.
i highly doubt young, skinny dudes are going to the gym so they can stay skinny. they can already do that by not going to the gym.
you don't think the tiktok "femboy" craze is just a shit meme, and not actually taken seriously by the most autistic generation of all time, right?
I didn't say anything close to that. Take your medication
you have poor reading comprehension. I'm saying it's entirely plausible that young skinny dudes are indeed trying to maintain a skinny physique, due to taking internet memes too seriously, because their generation is autistic.
you don't bench press if you're trying to become a femboy, dumbass. hence
> they can already do that by not going to the gym.
glad your elite reading comprehension caught that one
no this is a masturbation and porn problem... these young guys jack off so often they end up without the sap life force inside you... even if you didnt know anything about working out you would have this inner drive to became stronger and you would improve
is this guy natty
You're talking about me and I can confirm it's this
Also shitty school hours
My guess is that he's just trying to get his muscles to work to prevent atrophy.
roidtrannies thinks this looks good, holy shit
you would peee in your pants if he looked at you wrong
Shut the frick up! My gf worked hard to reach that number.
Some people are afraid of heavy weight, some people might not even know you're supposed to increase it.
How about mind your fricking business and stop losing your shit every time someone trains with the same weight.
For all you know they could be improving their form after doing it wrong, or aren't string enough to move up a whole 10 pound increment yet.
These fricking homosexual ass redditor takes remind me of the fat 50+ year old guys who would hang around the YMCA and give the stinkeye to young gym users for no reason.
Your like the gym version of those old skier grandpas who tuck in their jackets and scream their head off when toddlers accidentally ski to close.
All of you frick off and get a life
found the guy OP was talking about, and boy is he upset
Absolutely based post. Why are you at the gym observing young guys, OP?
if they're too lazy to look up basic day 1 concepts of building muscle after going to the gym for months, they're never gonna make it anyway
progressive overload is not some revolutionary concept, it's literally "try to do more reps or lift a heavier weight than last time", you don't need some uber specific powerbuilding periodization program to make gains.
Is the guy doing the same number of reps each time.
Theres this guy at my gym who clearly has no idea what he’s supposed to be doing. He loads as much weight as possible and yanks it with shit form. He looks like a cartoon character when he lifts. I wanted to help him but he meanmugs me and looks a bit simple anyway so frick him. People who want to make it will seek advice, im not giving it unsolicited.
you could be describing me
we dont care about form we're freaks we're sick we're piss we're revolting we're insulting
It might be prescribed exercise for some sort of musculoskeletal disease. That's generally lighter weight and not increased.
Ive been benching 2.5plates, squating 3 and deadlifting 4 for a year now, because im only trying to maintain strength while losing fat.
How much fricking fat do you have moron fatty
NGMI
as one of those skinny dudes, sorry I have a shit diet and I am trying to lose fat...
i dont care if you are 15 years old and 1000 calories in cut, you can still double your bench press in few months - 30 kg is nothing, you should improve just by technique and improvement of your nervous system
idk dude I have been traning since november and I can barely do 50kg (barbell included) and I am always doing to my max (and as I have said literally shit diet, today I ate like 250g of peanut butter and popcorn)
>he includes the bar
I know I am ngmi no need to emphasize
You're gonna make it, I just wanted to do the ">he includes the bar" meme.
everyone includes the bar moron
if someones says they bench 225lbs, they are benching 2 plates on each side and a 45lb bar, what is difficult to understand? You're the odd one out, everybody includes the bar.
I've only heard of eurogays including the bar because their measly metric lifts sound wimpy without that extra 20 like I can lateral raise more than that
Bro are you serious? This is the norm in America, everybody includes the bar (45lbs) in whatever exercise. Nobody just goes off the plates alone
I only include one side of plates when I track it myself.
Strongest anon on the planet
those are female nipples so i'm doing what has to be done to keep these blue boards safe
if you are benching 2 plates its 40 kg... one plate is 20 kg, so you just count how many plates are in your lift number.. for example if you lift 100 kg then you go 100:20=5, that means you bench 5 plates
bait
thats okay brother, if you made progress
I'm stuck on 80kg (1.5pl8) bench for a few months now. Like 4 or maybe 5. It's gotten considerably easier, but I still struggle to make 8 reps, always can give at least 5 though
idk about 30kg though, maybe the guy is a casual that doesn't really care
The ones here are scared to get muscle becuase it will effect their running and do it to tone or w/e meme
Also i secretly curse them to stay in a plateaus becuase they never rack their weights
I've been doing the same weight on bench for the last 6 months but it's because I'm focused on losing weight, not building muscle.
I only started going to the gym back in Oct 2022 and could only do the bar at first (5kg would legit frick me around), but am doing 17.5kg on each side now.
Slow progress or normal-ish?
155 lbs bodyweight.
20 kg to 55 kg in few months, almost trippled strength, seems good to me, how do you feel? lets say you take a year and get it to 100 kg, would that be cool? i dont know, i think thats pretty cool
> how do you feel?
Alright, making more or less the same progress on my other lifts but I feel some are slowing down (Triceps are hard, just started doing JM press and that shit's tough too, doing 20kg bar + 5kg plates)
>lets say you take a year and get it to 100 kg, would that be cool?
That would be solid growth honestly but I'm not sure how much it will slow down, going from 20kg to 55kg isn't too bad because it's mostly getting starting strength, but going from even like 60kg to 80kg is a bigger jump in itself I feel, never-mind up to 100kg, but I will focus on it.
Weightlifting is useless for actual functional strength
I'm literally that person anon, to the absolute limit. I'm afraid of getting hurt and enjoy my ottermode physique while not having to go crazy at the gym. I enjoy playing basketball and def need to bulk up a little, but am not obsessed with numbers.
Been doing 155 squat 5x5 for like legit 10 years
Maybe they're doing more reps or sets. There are many ways to progressively overload
This is me. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
I’m eating well, mostly animal protein and carbs, no sneed oils or fast food. I’ve been putting on 1.5-2 kg per month since October yet my bench is still at 5x50 kg.
I fail bench two times a month when I try to push the limit. My other lifts aren’t going up either or very slowly.
I’m running sort of Reddit PPL-Brosplit hybrid now, 5-6 days a week. I tried stronglifts before but I was losing weight back then so I didn’t think much of the stagnation. I also hated squatting 3 times per week.
I hired a PT and he said my form is ok and I should be gaining strength.
I get 8 hours of sleep and supplement creatine, multivitamin and zma. I stopped drinking and smoking completely. I feel great and don’t get sick anymore, but I’m weak and look like shit.
Bros if I don’t start making gains soon I’ll have to start juicing or end it. I can’t put in any more time or effort into this.
Deload. Start again from a lower weight. Make sure your movements are slow and in control. Do some negatives. Really build up that mind-muscle connection. Focus on activating each muscle involved. Tear em up by being slow, in control, and focused on the specific muscles.
They just dont know how to train or eat. We are talking about 0 protein territory and "i bench 30 for 10 reps for 3 sets because... my random program from x influencer said so!!! He is jacked af and he is totally natural, he just eats duck eggs and takes his supplement line products. What are you talking about? Progressive what?"
People suck at doing their own reaserch and they want a random dude to make a video on israelitetube to explain them instead. Then they take the bait, buy the supplements, they still dont eat protein and train like shit, then they would either take roids or give up.
They could be a competitive runner or distance swimmer.
I've been going to the gym for 1 month and I can only bench 10kg. I think most of it is due to my week wrists from years of gaming.
I think I'll just drop bench press and do dumbbells instead for chest.
you mean 10 kg or 20+10? do they have a 10kg bar or something
its machine
i would stick to one, looks like you already picked the machine, push and push and try empty barbell from time to time... i think you should be able to do 5x empty barbell very very soon
He could be injured and in physio. If he's torn his rotator cuff pretty bad he won't be able to lift much for a while
>i dont even think its a sleep/nutrition problem
