Anyone have any exp. W/steriods?

I am 45 6'3" and trying to get in shape. Currently 235 lbs down from a peak of 295. Diet is ok, mostly chicken but once a week i will get loaded (whisky) and have pizza or whatever. 6 months in i am lifting almost 3.5 more weight than where I started but my arms look exactly the same.

Looking for results, not strength - are roids the answer? Will that kill me? I have heard that if you do them in moderation its not bad for you.

Thanks for reading and any help you can offer

bro, alcohol is really bad if you wanna get lean. causes beer belly and raises estrogen.

if youre going to use gear, you might as well start cleaning up your diet and take training seriously. also, talk to your doctor and get regular checkups.

roids won't kill you immediately but they can have a negative effect. good luck, stick to testosterone unless you can find a bodybuilding coach to help you out.

Nah beer and weed definitely do the opposite especially with tobacco.

Nothing more manly than being able to handle liquor and smoke a whole entire spliff by yourself while drinking most people legit can't do that.

    235lbs of what, fat? Muscle?

You have height, just eat high protein good diet, and workout natty 3-4 days a week for an hour. An alcohol might and shit food is fine once a week.

Roids are not the answer, there is no moderation. They will age you, frick up your hair if you have it, and you have to cycle on and off for, well, forever.

As a 20 year old who wants to compete, is this worth it? Perhaps. At your age? No way.

I am also 45 years old.

If you are 45 and 6'3" natty lifting and good diet will still put you above 99% of men in your group.

235lbs i would say doughy but firming up. I lift almost daily, 5 times a week at a min. I do the same everytime, bench and curls and am def. Getting stronger but my arms legit show zero sign of getting bigger.

Tha ks for your thoughts, really appreciate it

Arms (natty) are hard to build. Often to grow an inch you are looking at 10lbs added to bodyweight. And at 6'3" big (looking) arms are harder to achieve. But you probably have a bigger and wider bone structure, which is better overall.

You'll gets stronger by bloating, but you'll look better naked by lowering bodyweight, and strength.

        >I do the same everytime, bench and curls

You should probably change routines though.

Ok cool, i will try try switching up. Is it better to lift heavy or lighter with more reps?

            Cecil "CHAD BALDWIN" Drake

Take the usual growth process of a range you can do 8-10 times. 2-3 reps heavy is in the realms of strength gains, not muscle hypertrophy and size gains.

Light, in theory can give gains, you'll really just take more time doing them.

And also, older guys, or people in general I guess, heavy lifts such as squatting, can result in injury, compressed spinal damage, and overall stress on joints.

Someone who is tall, 6'2" plus, and over 200lbs, even a callisthenics bodyweight body is going to look amazing to almost all people.

                No probs.

Nah, fat loss is going well not worried there, just tryingnto find a way to get the arms to pop a little more, they feel way harder just dont look any bigger

Arm growth natty is hard unless bodyweight is added, and this means all over. Unless you are using that magic juice pills. The main thing you can really do is just do a weight you fail in the 8-10 rep range, and focus on slow eccentric contraction movements, meaning, when you curl the weight, lower it down slowly, which is the movement that promotes the greatest muscle building.

And use a barbell with the hands on the regular position, but then hold them out further, and then closer together to hit all parts of the bicep.

Of course, the main arm size comes from the triceps, which you also need to hit.

Sorry but the fact that you’re asking these questions imply that you’re nowhere near the level where it makes sense to take steroids (if taking steroids for non-monetary reasons would ever make sense). It’s good that you asked but the answer is a resounding no. You can look very impressive natty it you’re about 100kg lean. It will take time

        >eats pizza
        >only lifting 6 months
        >wants results
        >"hmmm... time for steroids!"

I get conflicting reports on this, maybe not worth the risk

        Cecil "CHAD BALDWIN" Drake

Steroids create more vascular pathways (veins) which means more work for the heart to pump blood around the body, they also enlarge muscles, which includes the heart, being a muscle itself. They also shut down natural testosterone production, aka your balls shrink, and there is always a risk this does not re-start, meaning lifelong testosterone injections. The environment they create in your body, radically changes once you stop them and you lose fast, no matter what you do. This means a constant on/off cycle. With all the risks.

If it was so risk free, with the benefits, we would all do it.

A little anavar never hurt anybody (unless you have existing kidney or liver issues).

      Cecil "CHAD BALDWIN" Drake

Anavar is one of the "safest" steroids, and has the smallest impact on hairloss, but it can still shut down and suppress natural testosterone production.

And not many people really run anavar alone.

[at least] The top 30% of physiques in your gym are enhanced according to statistics.

The best you can aim for, realistically, is being the top 50-60% in your gym and if that’s not good enough for you, well… every amateur roider regrets it, so…

How the frick do people progress past joint and tendon injuries? Any time I get a flare up I literally fix it within a few days but even then it's like I am more afraid of ripping my shit up and it severely inhibits my lifts.

I just don't get how steroids prevent this, I'd assume any physique is limited by tendons and shit.
