There's arguments to be made about spinal decompression (legit, you can even try it on a pullup bar) and other adjustments, but the vast majority are hacks. At best you will get a crack that offers temporary relief and at worst you will be fricking paralyzed. Plus most of them have meme degrees and delve into alternative medicine. The b***h you posted offers the same "adjustment" for all of her patients because that's what sells. Dr Rahim seems a lot more legit. Any adjustment from an actual doctor should be followed by physiotherapy, stretching and regular exercise. But of course, people want the quick and easy solution and think a glorified masseur will fix their degraded from obesity spinal disks.

Frick no. They're witch doctors. They make your back feel good for a week then you can never stop going.

      >crack that offers temporary relief
Which is why you go. That you also hit the physiotherapist and get the correct exercises to unstrain the muscles is more important.

      So the correct order is:
Gym -> chiropractors -> gym -> massage parlor -> fixing your god damn muscle and posture issues

You build up pressure in all joints.
Cracking them is the gas exiting the joint.

If you are feeling tight in the spine, this could help.
But you could be tight because of tight muscles or have a bulging disc. And then they're not going to help, might even make it worse.

Look up youtube for stuff you can do at home to decompress/stretch.

But they don't fix anything. They pop a troublesome air bubble, at the risk of snapping your spine. Then because your back actuallt hasnt been fixed, the air bubble reforms and now you need to see the chiropractor again.

The real treatment is physical therapy, to loosen your tendons and joints to where you naturally release the air bubble and the air bubble never reforms because your body is back in alignment. Then you'll never feel tense or pain again.

So really a chiropractor is an expensive quick fix, that only provides temporary relief (with a severe high risk of life long paralysis)

What was your bad experience with one? Surely you aren't speaking anecdotally.

No, its horseshit. At best they won't cause any real harm, at worst they'll cripple you for life.

What was your bad experience with one? Surely you aren't just speaking anecdotally.

      no
go to a physical therapist instead but make sure they are actually someone who is athletic and understands what comes with that.

What was your bad experience with one? Surely you aren't just speaking anecdotally.

It was taught to the founder by ghosts at a seance. It's vaguely scientific sounding four whole syllable name keeps morons throwing money at them. It's exactly the same as those aging hippy ladies that absolutely swear by the healing powers of crystals. Thankfully people that go to chiropractors might actually get killed by them so their better than crystal healers in a way for disposing of dipshits.

So you yourself have no experience to speak of? Ya just like every single time a chiropractor thread pops up, just people talking out their ass having never been through the process themselves. Good to know, never change IST.

I tore a ventral artery in my neck. All I experienced was constant neck pain, unsure of the cause. I was told to go to a chiropractor for an adjustment, but got an MRI instead. They said if a chiropractor would have done an adjustment on me, it would have given me a stroke and I would have died.

I have seen good results from going to mine and the xrays taken a year apart proved my spine has straightened out, it has a slight curve to each side looking at it from the front. Also my neck was leaning forward too much and over the past year it has gotten back into a healthy curve. I also physically feel better after getting adjusted and putting everything back in place, mostly realigning my hips.

The fact that seemingly normal people believe in such scams is insane.
No, all your health problems aren't because your bones are out of place. No, you can't just crack some bone and become healthy again. The scammer doesn't know your entire skeleton and can't know the precise spot they need to press to activate a magic button on your body.
If a chiropractor can fix your life by pressing on your body somewhere just guessing, what the frick do you think happens to your body every day? You sit down on a chair and the chair presses against your back, do you accidentally fix all your health problem? You fall down and hit your rib, did that accidentally fix your headaches and foot fungus?

If you believe this shit, you are insane.

Where do they learn their craft and who gives them degrees? Institutions completely removed from academia without any accreditation. Their degrees aren't worth the paper.
Do they have peer review? Injury rate vs benefit studies? No. It is homeopathy, except worse since you can achieve results with the right stretches and equipment.
And chiropractors don't have the necessary medical knowledge or equipment to tell exactly what is wrong with your spine. When all you have is a hammer, every problem is a nail.

I went to a chiropractor after hurting my back deadlifting and he gave me pretty solid advice on recovery, proper form, and stretches I should do to prevent injury again. All of it was stuff you could find on there Internet, at least in theory after shifting through a bunch of bullshit, but that's no skin off of my back because it was all covered by insurance since I'm an American with a salaried job. My opinion is he gave me good advice when 99% of what you find online is bogus and that was genuinely helpful. The guy did try to call me back months later to see if I was willing to go to more spine cracking treatments though, I declined obviously because I'm not some schmuck.
    Interpret it how you will.

    Sometimes:
Give a bunch of money to an unlicensed medical professional to use your body like bubble wrap and collapse cavitation bubbles in your joints for perceived momentarily relief.
    Other times:
Give a bunch of money to an unlicensed medical professional to cause permanent nerve damage because they were a little tired and didn't have the extra cup of coffee they usually do.
Ignorant midwit cash syphon, people often over estimate an individuals competency simply due to the fact they work in healthcare.
