I saw a nutritionist to get a precise % of my bodyfat and my true TDEE, but instead she used a diagnostic scale on me.
The results seems to be utter crap, in order from top to bottom of pic related, it is basically " weight; % bodyfat; mass bodyfat; lean mass; muscular mass; water mass; % water; bone mass; MBR; metabolism age; level of fat; IMC; % obesity".
So, it claim that I have a 11.9% bodyfat, which is impossible to me, here's the imgur link with some pics of me https://imgur.com/a/98Gf9RZ took at night, after meals and lost of water during that day though (I've been doing 5x5 since 3 weeks, before I was lifting weight randomly, tried to stay on maintenance or a little above).
Diagnostic scale are garbare right? Also they got my height wrong by 1 centimeter (she typed 182 centimenters, my height is 181), could change drastically the results maybe.
I forgot to add again that the diagnostic scale that I used from the nutritionist cost arount 3k dollars, but work like a normal weight scale, just my barefoot on it.
I dunno if bioelectrical impedance truly do work
>Are diagnostic scale accurate?
No
Even if they cost like 3k dollars?
Expensive doesn't mean they aren't shit
Not him but anything to back up your claim ?
My dietician found my TDEE through a similar machine, it work
Oh well, 3k is nothing to me. I owe 3500 to this Argentinian dating coach named Guillermo I found off YouTube to help me approach women and he made me buy chelsea boots and clothes from Zara that make me look like a closeted homosexual
What?
They're relatively inaccurate, but the expensive ones at least get close enough to make them viable to give you a basic overview, as long as you stick to proper measurement conditions
>proper measurement conditions
Which is? It was just my barefoot on, wearing my clothes.
Why are they inaccurate ?
shit just look at OP’s pics and ask yourself if that’s realistically 11% bf lmao
Food + water could explain it, also it state 12 percent
delusional but ok
Are you a nutritionist ? Serious question because OP saw a professional
>OP saw a proffesional
They're literally in it for the money, you can charge people good money for stepping on a scale like this, no doubt whatever "expert" he saw made back the 3k initial cost already. Nobody is going to tell you "btw the thing that I'll charge you 20$ for isn't all that accurate to begin with, but it's nice to think it's as easy as this"
So take it with a salt of grain, water and electrolyte status can influence the measurements, but it's probably still within the ballpark of reality
>ballpark of reality
Really? Even for BF? Sounds unbelievable to me.
I'll see another nutritionist tomorrow, I don't pay for it (I have a very good low cost health insurance), it might have a scale like it.
Alright thanks!
OP here and I agree, my being 12% seems impossible to me, wondering though is the MBR found by it is accurate or notv(1978 kcal).
Because the parameter that it uses to assess body composition isn't stable or equally distributed , they just sent electricty through your body, measure the resistance and try to "calculate" your bf% from it, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that there are countless factors that will influence that. The expensive ones are at least calibrated properly, but they're still only a relatively good educated guess, so don't take the results as gospel.
Fasted, no exercise beforehand, no significant drinks beforehand, ideally it shouldn't have been a hot day
>Fasted
Not my case
>no exercise beforehand
I had to walk a lot to see the nutritionist, so not my case
>ideally it shouldn't have been a hot day
It was a hot day, even if inside the temp was ok.
So I definitely do not meet the criteria.
Btw, how long should I fast before doing anything similar? If ever.
Not at all, seems to be more around 18-19% to me, just wondered why I got those results, sounds like I got it from other anons
I'd say 4-8 hours, ideally just do it in the morning and skip breakfast.
i dont get it, do you think your true bodyfat is lower than 11%?
