They're atheists so they don't have religious script telling them not to eat fanged animals and then their government tells them dog is good for them because they have a stray dog problem and that is how they decided to take care of it.

I don't refuse to eat dogs because of a religious text- I don't eat them because a fricking rock on the ground could see they and horses are natural companion animals to mankind for many thousands of years. All animals have roles and the dog and horse have unique roles.

I live on a farm and love having a dog. He can be an aggravating little SoB sometimes but it is great to have a little critter running around and sounding the alarm anytime someone pulls up, keeping animals out of my fruit trees, and providing entertainment in general.

Whoa watch the edge bro. But jokes aside, canines are a perfect match with humans. They are without question the most intelligent domesticated animal. Mankind, despite our technological ability, has yet to replicate something that can do what a trained scent hound can do.

        >the most intelligent domesticated animal
confirmed for never owning a bird
I've had both and the intelligence of a fricking conure puts dogs to shame. A fricking wieneratoo has the mental capacity of a 5-6 year old human. I've had birds all my life, they can pick locks apart with their beaks, figure out your habits, solve problems on their own.
Had an african grey escape one time due to my incompetence, the fricker found his way home and started ringing a cowbell I have infront of my house after seeing me do it trough the window yet never having interacted with it on its own before

        dogs are fricking morons

I would never get any dog, much less a shitbull. 95% of the dogs I've been around have acted like this (and yes, I only associate with white people). So you can cope and seethe all you want, but that makes it very likely that your precious pupperinos are simply Black folk.

Dogs' are still animals you idiot kek do you know what the frick an "animal" is? What do you expect? But their primary praiseworthy trait is loyalty. They genuinely are loyal and when you've been around humans- especially worthless fricking city dwellers- you begin to see the appeal of an animal that is loyal to the fricking grave.

My dogs don't bark for no reason. They're actually great as an alarm system, better than any AI camera because they tell me when anyone is near my house. One of my dogs is also smart enough to know when it's a "dog problem" and doesn't bother me about it but if it's something I need to pay attention to (like someone in the yard or knocking on the door) she will come and get me. You'll never know this joy.

We owned two birds when I was younger, they are not stupid animals but you're fricked in the head if you think think are smarter than a canine. I've ever seen a good herding dog working with a person and have been thoroughly amazed.

There are different types of intelligence in animals but when it comes to taking orders from humans and actually understanding a task- the dog is by far superior to the rest. A trained intelligent dog specimen will blow everything else away though. Horses are number two though imho. Some birds would probably be number three.

One time my mom raised a mocking bird that fell from a tree and after it got big enough to fly it would remember you and come land on your shoulder and stuff if it saw you in the yard. So I yeah are smart but not like dogs.

I knew a guy that would take his dog fishing and when he got the boat in the water that little motherfricker would run back to the truck and grab the tackle box and bring it to the boat kek.

Try Ravens and Crows, if you get on their bad side they'll actually teach their young to frick with you and your family. when it comes to intelligence Birds are on another level, doesnt help that a fricking raven can outlive a human either.
you can train a dog to do tasks sure, but they dont really understand what they're doing, just that doing it will get them a reward
Birds will do intelligent shit and understand what they're doing, either they know its a good thing and get a reward, doing it because they like it and they will understand if they're doing something wrong but they'll keep doing it because they like it.

              Anonymous

Look m8 it's no mystery that ravens and crows are considered highly intelligent animals but I'm just telling you that a trained dog is genuinely on another level than other animals imho. Have you ever been around herding dogs? It is honestly unreal what they do and the idea that that don't understand the job is total bullshit. A good herding dog requires almost no instruction and will intuitively understand what it's job is. It will basically do the work itself. I've seen kids playing in the pool and the dog thinks one is in trouble and he jumps in and tries to help them to the ladder kek. Even my dog is not a trained specimen but he will never bark at a car he recognizes. I have a friend that drives a white truck that comes over alot and he never barks at his vehicle coming down the drive but if literally any other white truck comes down the drive he sends up the alarm.

That's not really what's meant by intelligence. Obedience is not intellect, crows, ravens, parakeets, wieneratoos are among the most intelligent and also empathetic animals. Crows literally derive pleasure from solving problems and puzzles and crafting tools. I've had crows take pecans and drop them at the roadside so their shell can be smashed by cars and then they swoop in and eat what's inside. That being said I like dogs as well, I've owned a dog as my active pet as they love hiking and hunting and running around and a bird as my house pet. Much better than a cat I think.

Getting a dog and leaving it alone all day and kennel at night only to let it crap a few times a day isn’t /r/fit
Getting a dog that you regularly walk/exercise, train to follow commands, and give mental stimulation is /r/fit

If someone doesn't have time to spend with a dog every day then they need to at least give it a nice big yard that it has access to 24/7. It makes me sick seeing people in apartments with dogs.
