Are fasting advocates all fatsos who don't exercise?

I weigh 140lbs., and I eat three large meals a day, but even still, I have to be careful with the timing (not going too long between meals) to make sure I have enough energy for the workouts that I do, balancing lifting and cardio.
These people claim to be able to go days, or even weeks without eating (except coffee and electrolytes), and also even claim to be able to workout, and claim that they somehow magically also don't lose muscle (despite not getting essential amino acids regularly).
These people are all fatsos who get no exercise, or they're full of shit, right?

the people all doing week long fasts and longer are people with bodyfat percentages in the upper 20's at least. As a normal healthy weight person, the longest you can comfortably do without fricking up your muscle is probably somewhere from 3-5 days

130lb gay here. After only 2 days of only water I'm too weak to walk. Idk how people manage weeks at a time.

what's your height, you're probably low bmi and bf% already and shouldn't bother with fasting

They claim that fasting somehow prevents muscle loss in ways that just reducing caloric intake doesn't, that your body recognizes and treats the fasting state differently.
Of course you have no pool of essential amino acids to draw from besides muscle, so if you're not eating protein, I'm not sure how your body avoids breaking down muscle to get those aminos.

That's what arguing with these lunatics is like.
They're also usually also big into keto/lowcarb, for some reason.
Why is eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise so difficult for some people?

Some ppl just like to minmax. If it works as a tool to avoid skinnyfat hell, or gaining too much fat while bulking and losing too much muscle while cutting, then why not?

Thousands of books? $40 a month program? Incredible. Now compare that to the average yearly revenue of the sugar industry, the wheat industry, Big Pharma companies, etc. and get back to me.

I'm not that anon, and I'm not sure of this, but I was doing TRF IF (20/4), and quit after a bad lipid panel (high LDL). I wasn't doing keto, but I also wasn't doing low-fat. I'm not sure if fasting fricks your cholesterol #s up, but there's anecdotal evidence that it does. I completely stopped fasting after that.

You need about 60g a day to convert to fuel that the brain uses. The body also uses the damaged proteins circulating in your blood and lymph first. Muslce loss only starts after 2/3 days. You still grow nails and hair.

presumably because you enter a less anabolic state, while preferring to recycle "bad" cells over skeletal muscle to re-use those aminos

if you can fast for weeks it means you are a fat ass because if you don't need to lose dozens of pounds or something you won't need to do it

as for not losing muscle again that goes back to how much fat you need to lose

also people have all kinds of weird bodies and ways of handling fat like my cousin weighs 120 pounds and is 6'2 and can't gain weight at all no matter what where I can gain 5 pounds overnight by breathing air

      Anonymous

He's not eating that much. Before lifting I was always skinny at 6'2" but people would see me binge eat one large meal and assume I eat like that constantly. Metabolism plays a role but if he tracked calories correctly he's just not eating a lot or works a very physical job.

They're all on steroids and probably lying about fasting too.
Thomas DeLaurer (whatever his name is) is a great example. He's a brainlet, PED-abusing mouthpiece who reads scripts written for him by keto packaged food companies.

He's also (per the MPMD interview) hypogonadal, and probably also sterile.
There's something hilariously ironic about someone having that physique with completely non-functioning balls.

    >These people are all fatsos who get no exercise, or they're full of shit, right?

it doesn't appear this way. Plenty of youtube videos about not fatties giving keto and fasting a shot for 7 days.

    Like this guy

he has done two 7 day fasts, keto and even ate 30 eggs a day for 7 days. He gets blood work before and after and they always seem to drop his LCL.

Keto and fasting are fine if you have a lot of weight to lose or need to reset your insulin resistance. They aren't silver bullets though. You'll do better on your lifts with some carbs. You can go harder if your muscles are fully charged with glycogen.

The problem is that most people yoyo diet because they go right back to eating lots of bullshit. Ideally you would shift from keto to a healthier whole food diet that includes some grains, fruits and vegiabltes. A lot of people on keto dont do that. They get the weight off, then go back to eating lots of pizza, fried foods, grabbing candy bars and sodas at the vending machine and when they buy gas. But hey, I get it. They put candy by the check out. Frozen pizzas are at the front of the grocery store. Walmart even puts fried chicken up front at the registers.
