Are oats good or bad as a carb source? Or is this phytic acid stuff blown out of proportion? If they’re bad, what are some other good carb sources?

do you wanna shit 4 times a day because you eat a bunch of fiber?
athletes should not be consooming fiberous carbs close to activity
the best carb source is the most easily digestible carb source, its just goyfuel, not for nutrition
so white rice and whatever carb powders that absorb instantly
literally the most processed shit is the best, counter intuitively
but yeah I could eat raw soaked oats in whatever slop just fine rather than rice in all actuality but fucking fiber do you wanna shit 4 times a day? do you?
So you only eat rice? What about stuff like fruit and potatoes? Are they good?
I eat a bunch of slop when I shouldnt
google FODMAPs + read the vertical diet by stan efferding (biggest redpill you will have besides learning about macros/cico in your lifting career)
how much do you wanna BRAP? fruit and potatoes are bad
not when you eat like most skeletons here no, if you eat like a big boy and slavegrainmaxx and eat alot of oats and fibrous shit like this you WILL shit 4 times a day and have nonstop gas
I grainmaxxed and have known
also literal hell if you have IBS
all dose dependent ofcourse, the less you eat the less worse it is
not ideal to build a bulk on OATS because of the copious amounts of gas+braps+fiber+shitting
it's over
>do you wanna shit 4 times a day because you eat a bunch of fiber?
you think he is gonna shit 4 times per day because he eats oats?
I already shit 4 times a day. Don't need oats ontop.
lol try it.
You WILL shit 8 times per day.
YOU WILL be happy.
white rice makes me sluggish and is harder to digest than oat
Literally imposible
Fruit, fresh fruit juice, refined sugar and milk are the best sources of carbs.
If you want to eat oats just eat them with milk. Milk has calcium so you don't have to worry about the antinutrients.
Oats can also help clean the gut, just don't go overboard .

phytic acid is a meme. Cooking it reduces phytic acid levels tremendously.
People on plant based diets are not deficient in vitamins and minerals found in those plants, they are deficient in meat based vitamins and minerals. If phytic acid were an issue, we would see deficiencies in these people.
Phytic acid is beneficial. Dont buy into the paleo meme
>Cooking
Shit, I've been doing overnight oats for as long as I know. Should I switch to cooking them?
i think it should be fine as long as you use acid like greek yogurt/kefir to soak it, soaking it in acid also cuts down the phytic acids greatly according to the Weston Price Foundation folks
>Weston Price Foundation
advocates 5g vaccine attenuator quackery shit
>Weston Price Foundation
Extremely based and k2 pilled
>foundation that is right about everything tells people covid vaccines are bad
>as long as you use acid like greek yogurt/kefir to soak it
I've been using onions milk. How fucked am I?
>using onions milk to soak overnight oats
lol what was your fucking plan in the end bro
I was just following online recipes bro.
It wasn't instant oats and at one time I've been eating it every single morning for a month, since they were easy to make. I guess I'm gonna switch to cooking them from now on just to be safe.
you should make them the way you prefer, phytic acid isn't something you should be worrying about.
eh, think it won't affect you that much, soaking it is usually enough i think, as long as you don't feel like terrible all of the sudden after eating it, after all i also used to soak them in almond butter and coconut milk and i never had anything bad coming my way after eating them
>they say some schizo shit so just disregard everything they say
cancerous leftist mentality, sure there are some wacky shits they said like their rancid (literally) cod liver oil shilling and anti coffee attitude but there are some gems like grain and legumes preparation methods
>l-leftist
if someone claims to have a scientifically-backed perspective on something, and they advocate ascientific quackery, yes, you fucking ignore them, correct
>muh left
4chan has completely controlled your mind, anyone who opposes your first thought is now a leftist? good luck in life young teen, you guys are unbelievably fucked and i don't feel bad for you honestly
>if someone claims to have a scientifically-backed perspective on something, and they advocate ascientific quackery, yes, you fucking ignore them, correct
great then let's just fucking ignore every nutritional advices because they too skew scientific results to sell products, retard
>/pol/
i don't even browse that board
yeah you arent terminally online on 4chan but you call everyone a leftist at the drop of a fuckin hat sure thing retard. have a nice day
okay, how about i call you an oversocialized cunt instead? because you sure do act like one
totally organic perspectives from someone who sits online all day
>post ted
>on IST
>where you sit all day
lmfao fucking poser
It still has gluten
if you're using something like instant oats that have been precooked, you're probably ok. If not, you're probably still ok, like I said, phytic acid isn't a big deal to begin with. It's not something to worry about if you are eating a balanced and healthy diet.
Crazy that phytic acid interferes with absorption of ‘meat based’ minerals then
ive been eating 100-150g of oats microwaved with milk. dates. and butter every morning for the past few months, i feel fine, dont shit that much
I love some oatmeal but I only eat it once or twice a week. Mine is pretty calorie dense but in a healthy way.
>cooked with water, milk and cinnamon (no sugar or salt)
>in bowl, I add:
>1 to 1.5 tbsp cacao nibs (magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, phosphorous)
>1/2 banana (vitamin sugar, potassium)
>1.5tbsp raw almond butter (E, Magnesium, B2, calcium, iron, protons)
>around 1tsp honey (sweetness, potassium and other beenefits)
>splash of whole milk
>a good pinch of dried unsweetened cranberries or a handful fresh blueberries when in season
The banana and honey sweeten it
I eat 200 g every day, at first I used to shit water but I haven't problems since then, just time well your meals, don't eat more than 100 g in less than 6 hours
They make me fart all fucking day
>impairs
by what percentage?
are you stupid, and being scared stupidly, instead of asking a smart person's questions?
Do you guys fuck with oat bran? Should I rinse oat bran before cooking it? I hate the sort of goo that comes out of them when I cook them
this is waste material
Huh? Why bait? It has better macros than regular oats. What the fuck am I missing?
Terrible bait

>drink ground oats
>doesnt feel filling/heavy on stomach at all
>cook oats
>feel like i ate a brick afterwards
>dude just eat this mass market monoculture grain which first has to be dehusked, steamed, then rolled and flattened into flakes, then dried, then soaked for a long time or cooked on low heat for a considerable amount of time, then you need to add sugar, salt and various other ingredients for it to taste like anything even close to actual food and then you finally consume, so good for you bro!
yeah no thanks
Shit you convinced me. What's a good alternative that I can eat daily and it just as simple to prepare?
oats
Serious replies only pls
Sawdust.
oats are rolled and flattened?? I had no idea but that makes so much sense now. Like why are those little guys flat how would they ever grow like that.
Oats back me up and make my poo all gooey and hard to get out, especially if I eat them in consecutive days. Any idea why? Everyone else says they make them more regular
In my culture is normal to eat oat porridge every morning as the first meal, but I recently found out something a bit unintuitive about it.
In the morning your blood sugar will be around the lowest it will be throughout the day (unless you have a fasting regime). Oats produce an insulin response like any carbs, but they are a very slowly releasing carbohydrate. This makes it so that your insulin response lowers your already low blood sugar without getting any blood sugar back for quite a while since it takes a lot of time to digest the oats.
The way your body balances this lowered blood sugar is by releasing cortisol, which catabolizes a tiny bit of your muscles to get your blood sugar up. To the person experiencing this it will feel like a sudden jolt of energy that "wakes you up", since cortisol is a stress hormone. Only later on throughout the morning do you even start getting glucose from the oats you ate. Depending on your outlook this can be either good or bad, cortisol in the morning is usually good but if you stressed already this is something you shouldn't do.
Just take ashwaganda bro
But people tend to eat oats with other things like milk, banana, berries etc which has glucose which is quick to be taken up?
Oats are dumb. They are cheap cattle feed and it tries to warn you with it's tepid dirt flavour which is why you need to dump other things on them to eat them. They are something we can marginally utilize in an emergency but they should not be a staple.
just eat some vitamin c with your oats and youre good
