No but they shouldn't be used for punishment. It creates a negative connotation around them. Shouldve just been benched for the rest of training.

cringe take - dopamine is still released on exercise so negative neural patterns aren't established.

Basketball is pretty soft. So is baseball. The punishments for football were about 100x worse than other sports in hs.

football was bad, but wrestling was 100% worse in every way. I was having religious interventions the wrestling coach smoked us so bad.

        Anonymous

I wrestled as well and it wasn't as bad as football. The heat/humidity alone made football punishment 100x worse. And our coach was just a real old school hardass. Our wrestling coach wasn't a pushover but he wasn't that bad.

The worst punishment you could pull at football was the bleachers or even worse was tire pulls. The tire pulls were fricking brutal. That shit might have actually been cruel lol.

also we were 12-13, around 6', coach was a fricking manlet though hahaha like 5'7, used to tell all those kinda of stories about girls he fricked, later on I could see why he was being a blatant liar and needed to lie to a bunch of taller than him 12 year olds.

Good training though, it was fricking hard, but he got us lean, so we got a ton of pussy.

Coach is negligent for not making him do enough. Also the OP image was a fake anyway.

      >Coach is negligent for not making him do enough.
Exactly. Punish that fricker, make him work. It may undue the damage this kid's mom did to him. You know she's writing the PTA and shit about the team's culture of toxic masculinity. She's emasculating that kid, guaranteed.

Is the action corrective and does it serve a training purpose? Not abuse. Is the action only being done for the purpose of humiliation? Probably abuse. This is why the actions that count as “hazing” in college fraternities don’t count as hazing when done on college sports teams, and why nobody apparently notices what on a surface level seems like a double standard.

No but they shouldn't be used for punishment. It creates a negative connotation around them. Shouldve just been benched for the rest of training.

Lifting as a punishment as a kid is why we have so many sedentary fricks in my opinion. You're literally programming a child to think that lifting is punishment and bad. Put them in a corner or some shit and tell them to think about what they did, I don't frickin' know.

cringe take - dopamine is still released on exercise so negative neural patterns aren't established.

You do not understand the power of social engineering. If you train a child to associate lifting with embarrassment and failure in front of your peers, you WILL avoid it later in life.

If you train a child to understand that frickups are associated with humiliation and physical punishment- then they will not frick up any more.... I think that is the idea behind it.

The coaches used to always tell us that if we weren't getting hounded for mistakes etc. it was bad because it meant they had given up on us.

Also about "humiliation", when I played sports, everyone got it from time to time and the attitude was always that so and so's number got called today let's give him a hard time about it as bros. Everyone always took it in stride though. Getting your ass chewed by the coaches and then having to do sprints or bleachers is not really that humiliating either- like I said, everyone gets it from time to time.

          >If you train a child to understand that frickups are associated with humiliation and physical punishment- then they will not frick up any more
that idea is wrong and you are moronic for thinking like this
Programming any living being to associate something as a consequence of something being done poorly will make them avoid said consequence later in life. This is basic conditioning.
