        >Elevate your heels
I've got long thighs and after quite a bit of experimentation I've found flat to be better for squatting. Elevated heels make it harder to hit depth

It's amazing how the whiney little b***hes will find any fricking reason to pussy out of fricking putting in some hard work.

yuriks another lifter that has very long femurs.
Working on a wider stance and ankle dorsiflexion will definitely help lifters with long femurs squat better.

see thats the thing. Everyone has different leverages, muscle imbalances, and strengths.

You really need to play with stances, and different cues. Record yourself with a camera, even work with a coach.

        Form and technique is everything.

with long femurs back squats are a more hip and glute dominant exercise. squats will make your deadlift skyrocket. any kind of front squat will increase the quad dominance. however, with longer movement arms, asymmetries develop more easily. thus, rear-leg-elevated single leg squats can be very helpful for the long-femured, as they are a quad-dominated compound that doesn't allow asymmetric forms to develop.

    I'm 6'3 with a long femur.
I like doing low bar squats because they let me lean my chest forward for a good counter balance while not having to stick my knees as far out, which I find hurts my knees to let them do.
So yeah, my advice is putting the bar lower on your back so it doesn't dig into your neck when you lean forward and to just lean into the squat as much as you need to do it comfortably.

      I like his advice.
You could also just do stuff like hack squats even though it's a machine thing.
If you're lifting for muscularity it's about what gives you a burn in the right muscles so no need to be a purist.

Yes low bar squats are a meme for building quad hypertrophy. I could be at 5-6 RIR in my quads 0 RIR for my lower back performing them. If you only care about muscle size and not functional strength, do machine hack squats. Leave the squats to the manlets, they need something to be proud of.

It's got nothing to do with your height and everything to do with your proportions.

I'm a manlet with tiny femurs and my body can't squat.
I have great dorsiflexion, i can get knees over toes very easily, but my torso/trunk is quite large proportionately. I have to go super wide in order to get A2G.

Long femurs aren't what you should be focusing on, torso length is. Long torso with relatively short legs means you can stay relatively more upright when you squat, whereas a shorter torso means you have to bend over further to keep the right balanced over your mid foot. This is why taller people tend to have more trouble with squats, as they are more likely to have proportionally longer legs than shorter people, though short people can have this problem as well if they have a short torso.
Short torso means squats become hip hinges. If you want to negate this, you can do front squats with something elevating your heels to artificially give you more dorsiflexion at the ankle, which allows you to stay more upright. Just focus on bending over slightly, and shooting your knees forward as far as possible, actively pulling your feet towards your shins at the bottom even.

No, squats are easily the best leg exercise.
If you're having issues, figure out why. You probably don't have enough hip or ankle mobility.
I have short torso long legs and can squat atg comfortably.
