Legit if you're prediabetic or have autoimmune issues, useless otherwise. Fasting heals the sick but it doesn't improve the healthy.

What dumb thinking. Everyone is sick, to some degree. If you believe fasting can heal the sick then you have to believe it's a great tool to get an extra level of health.

These is no "extra level of health", anon. You're eather normal (healthy) or sick. Fasting helped my heal prediabetes, brainfog and a slew of issues. I took it that fasting = becoming boosted. I was wrong, once those issues were fixed fasting became nothing but a detriment (low energy & bad performance). Once you regain your ability to eat food without messing yourself up, all gimmicks lose their ability to enhance you. Look at michael phelps, homie eats 10000 calories a day of what most would call "junk food", and he's an olympic swimmer. Your goal sould be to get to a point where you can eat whatever you want without messing yourself up, not having to maintain an insanely difficult eating protocol just so that you can break even.

No one is suggesting fasting while trying to compete in the Olympics. But to think you can eat all of the crap that he eats and not have any negative effect on his system is Ludacris. Fasting is a tool, to do periodically, to give your system a break and trigger autophagy.

doesn't fricking matter i can't function on it and am actually patient with counting calories so it's not for me, but if you need to lose weight fast for whatever reason or just want to then yea its useful only a homosexual would say otherwise.

I did 3 day fast two years ago. Not eating, just water. My mind felt clear, and I felt more stronger on the third day. Supposedly it boosts testosterone. Try it for your self.

Testosterone boost, HGH increased, stem cell formation and healing, BDNF ramps up and collagen/elastin starts to fix loose skin. Fasting is a god tier cleanse.

I"m pretty sure it does boost erections. I did a 3 day water fast one week, then a 2 day water fast a week later. Since then my erections have been rock hard and throbbing... it's crazy.

Semen retention and working myself up to ejaculation and then NOT ejaculating might also be contributing factors. Haven't came in like close to a month.

it's kind of shit if you already have a high cortisol existence or a job, kids, a life if you will. If you're some shut in lay about no one cares about go for it, no one is there to give a shit if you have an eating disorder.

Can I smoke while fasting? I guess not, right?

Yes. Makes it easier too as it suppresses appetite. Christian Bale took up smoking when preparing his body for his role in the machinist.

Just do zone 2 cardio. It's like fasting but much better and won't lose muscle.

I'm a former skelly, now decently muscular but still very lean at 205 lb 6"5.
In my attempts to leave skellymode I've had a really hard time eating enough, my default state growing up has been omad for like 20 years before I started working out, and if I don't force myself I would never eat more than 1 meal per day.
So I don't need weight loss, quite the opposite. But increased hgh and all the other things fasting shills speak of sound pretty good, plus I fricking hate eating.
Stupid question lol but there any point to me fasting despite me not wanting to lose weight at all?

      Anonymous

Yes. In latest Jeff Nippard video, they explain how; With a long enough fast, your metabolism will slow down for quite a long time, allowing you to gain weight from the same maintenance diet you had before.

In my experience it slows down everything in your body, including some mental agility which was enough for me to notice.

Yup. I got cold/felt way colder, walking, working, everything was harder. No erections even though I was no coom for 2 months, etc.
The coom rebound was intense though. Once I started getting calories I felt better, but I had to regain some muscle.

thoughts on fasting every other day, eating maintenance otherwise?

Seems ideal to drop weight while not destroying bodily functions

Works good if you workout on your fed days. I hate working out fasted for long periods of time.

right now I basically do upper body every other day and more of a flexibility and endurance lower body the other days, which I could fast for.

Eat/upper Monday Wednesday, fast/lower Tuesday Thursday. I like to do 6-10 mile hikes on the weekends and I'll need to eat on those days too. But otherwise I could drop weight pretty quickly doing this yeah?

    fasting is stressful
better to just eat healthy all the time, then doing these extreme things

Look at youtube binge eaters who age rapidly - they go through yo-yo periods of binge eating junk food followed by fasting. Clearly the fasting doesn't undo the damage.
Ray Peat is against it as well.

    Alright my homies.
I'm not going to do this for you ...
But look up people known for being fasting gurus.
    David Sinclair is one example.
    They are low energy betas.
That's what happens when you don't eat enough calories.

It's just a meme, do not engage in ketosis. Keep eating healthy, balanced sugary treats until you reach your weight goals, and go on metformin to deal with the aftermath

Why not? I usually do a week-10 day long multivitamin and water fast twice a year. Fasting is even commonplace in religion it cannot be that bad.

The main benefit of fasting (and ironically things like vegan and keto and meme diets) is you're not shovelling your face full of absolute trash tier slave food for one fricking moment.

It's possible to just eat healthily yoi know
