Do yourself a favor and just buy a sledge hammer, you can even buy multiple at different weights. It has more than one use, cheaper, and higher quality.

For the basic maces, you (wouldn't) be surprised that the equivalent weighted head is comparable in price to a sledgehammer. The only real benefit to buying a steel mace™ is the handles are longer so you can get more leverage pump.

Helped me unfrick my back, shoulders, and wrists with low intensity weight work. There's nothing magic about it: weight on a stick helps you use different leverage for different difficulty.

Autistic as it is, its fricking fun to just chill out and throw a movie on and swing the thing around however you feel for 30-60 min.

and I do weight for distance (30kg on a short shackle). I'm trying to beast the masters record (96 feet) some time in the next year or two.

pretty fun tbh, I take mine to the beach, do halos, lateral raises and then axe swings into the sand. It feels great, really loosens up the shoulders and back which are normally pretty tight for most people.
Also great for grip strength in general.

          Although this is correct tbh.

Some esoteric shit is good. The problem is that there is usually an underlying principle that makes it effective to whatever end, and rather than finding that purpose people settle for the meme itself. Often because the esoteric thing has multiple benefits.

Like I get yoga, I enjoy it in fact but I simply don't want to make the time for that. Going to the sauna and some exercises from the kneesovertoesguy that take 10 minutes during a workout help me far more than hours and hours of yoga did for the same problems.

Its a classic fighter's training though, you can also flip the tyre, jumpover the tyre, repeat and hit the tyre again and so on for training as well, wear some gloves and whatever to protect your legs from getting scratched up and you'll be good to go.

Gives you: Cardio, Strength, Endurance, Hip Hinge, Squat, Push, Pull.

I used to do a lot of medieval swordfighting stuff with a group called the SCA, which used wooden sticks. We tended to train with slightly heavier sticks than we would use for big competitions, and we did a ton of training with what we called "circles", but a real medieval person would probably call flourishes. Basically the idea is swinging your sword around your body in a variety of smooth arcs, both conditioning the muscles and getting you used to efficiently changing its speed and direction. These things would be actually pretty helpful for that extremely specific use case. But outside of sport specific training, probably not that useful. We all had disproportionately large delts, but there are better things that you can do at the gym for that.

It's like a Swiss army knife, not great at any one thing but good enough at multiple things.
