That’s an 8C brah. The 4C was mid-engined and came later. But I agree that the 8C is one of the most beautiful cars of recent years.

“Alpha” is dependent on your peer group—which choice be the people you work with, hang out with, etc. In my case, I would be the alpha amongst my coworkers, but that’s not saying much,

I work in a very popular outdoor lifestyle brand, corporate side. The people in my department are exactly what you would expect from the corporate America stereotype. Sheep minds, soft bodies, little initiative in work or in their personal lives. I like to think I have a little bit of self agency. But this is like being the tallest midget. The smartest moron. I am completely average, but my peer group is full of cat moms and numales. I am the least soft of the sensitive lumberjacks that work in my company. See what I mean?

I got a story that encapsulates everything I said if you guys are interested

Well I'm interested, if that matters.

I forgot about this thread, but here goes:
        >company sets up a mandatory group meeting with all departments involved
        >for that company spirit
        >exact details were kept under wraps, what were we doing?
        >axe throwing? Archery? Paintball? Disc golf tournament? All of these things that are expected of outdoor living companies?
        >it’s a “””””””modified””””””” spartan/ toughmudder race
        >not a bad idea, actually, and each department chooses 4 of their best guys to do the course, I’m part of team sales and marketing
        >everything is timed, the team with the shortest average completion time wins
        >the “”””””toughmudder course””””” is essentially a police agility exam setup, but with a lot of mud and Cringe spartan warrior Motifs here and there
        >stairs and ladders, weaving around pylons, dodging low hanging obstacles, hopping 3 to 6 foot fences, crawling through tunnels, some monkey bars to go past, and crawling through nets, finishing with a 30 yd dash
        >by my estimates an average person (like myself) would complete all of this in around 2 minutes
        >an absolute beast like David Goggins would complete this in 1 min 30 secs max
        >I’m selected to go first and I complete this course in 2 minutes
        >refs and upper management are incredulous, thinking that I was mistimed
        >forced to go again, and complete it in 1 min 50 seconds
        >people think it’s crazy
        >the rest of my team completes the course in 3 minutes average
        >other teams pass the course around 5 minutes, with some people unable to do the monkey bars portions or hopping the short fences that had soft padding on the other side
        >my team wins, other departments are complaining
        >we win a small bonus (direct deposit into bank accounts)
        >get a reputation for being “tough” (I’m really not)
        >somehow get promoted shortly after that

TLDR: average joe like me btfos a bunch of sensitive lumberjacks in a toughmudder event made for handicapped children and gets promoted

          Anonymous

Neat, I'm glad you got a bonus AND a promotion out of that work event.

Proud of you, whatever that means.

Absolutely not. I just stumble around doing my own thing and fricking up. Not that I mind, I'll get there eventually. Worst case I die, otherwise, I've got more mistakes to make.
