Are you supposed to tell people you are working out?
>be hanging out with new coworkers
>they start talking about weightlifting and sports or something like that
>one guy says "anon is probably the strongest here. he'd know. he looks like he works out"
>reply with "haha what, why do you think that, nah not really"
Is it autism?
Should I talk about lifting openly with people when they bring it up? I don't really wanna humblebrag so I usually just deny it and let them think I just have good genetics

Honestly based response anon. I normally go with the classic “haha yeah i just do some pushups now and then” when in reality I’m in the gym 10 hours a week. The key is to underplay the amount of effort needed to achieve your physique thus making it seem like you just have godlike genetics. It’s somewhat autistic I suppose but look where we are

      >The key is to underplay the amount of effort needed to achieve your physique thus making it seem like you just have godlike genetics
Only do this with women, not your bros.
Women are the ones who think effort is lame, your bros will appreciate the struggle you went through to get the physique - way more than you saying it's just genetic

        Coworkers != Bros
Most of them are essentially women tier NPCs, do not treat them like bros.

This is lame as shit. Don't do this. This is the kind of mentally ill shit that only IST can breed up.

Just fricking tell them that you lift and don't feel ashamed about your self and what you do. "yeah i lift"

wrong. i've had women straight up tell me they think its unattractive to be a gym rat. they are fricking moronic though. just lie and say you swim or play sports. You can only ever be truthful with your mother, your bros, and with God. Never with women.

            no, moron
I go to the gym but I have no reason to talk to anyone about it. Maybe a few of my lifting buddies I might talk to about PRs or whatever, but I'm not going to walk up to randoms and start talking about gym shit.
If a girl asks me if I work out, I just say yes and move on. I don't need to sit there describing my macros and training periodization, no one cares.

a lot of women also claim that they find certain astrological signs unattractive. They are moronic and shouldn't be taken seriously when they say stuff like that, if they find you attractive they'll gloss over any "preference" they have

This is some of the most autistic shit I've seen IST tell people to do. It was funny when it was "nah, I just play wii fit/zumba a few times a week," but people started unironically telling people that they don't lift apparently. I've seen several stories of people retelling their experiences of this and getting blank stares and weird looks as a response. It kinda became funny again because now I imagine insecure roidmonkeys telling their friends that they don't lift at all or just do some push ups and their friends now thinking that they're moronic(as if they needed more evidence of that)

      I look dyel though

Tell them you like to keep in shape, but never get into autistic detail about routines, diet etc.

good advice. I'll use it from now on if it happens again.

Same principle as 6'3 mutts telling everyone they are 5'10.
Hint to those peeps: People aren't laughing WITH you.

But hey, if you insist on removing yourself from the gene pool by basically telling every girls that you schizo, then be my guest. Weird flex, but okay.

If they ask directly, you reply directly.
In my case, my co-workers randomly decided to guess which sport I did.
Eventually, I told them I hated sports, I just enjoyed going to the gym.
They seemed repulsed by that answer for whatever reason

I understand. When I tell normies my routines and habits they generally feel shamed. They'll hide it with a compliment or detrimental joke but it's obvious they become uncomfortable. I do feel a bit for them, I understand fitness can be hard to start for a lot of people. But I don't think we should hide it. Be honest.

For me, it's the thrill of endorphins coursing through my body. Perfect flow state, convinced I could fight an army, berserker rage and monkmode tied into one. I'm addicted and I'll never apologize for it.

Yeah that's dumb, you're not the only one though.

I once met this huge Malaysian dude and I was like "how often do you work out?" And he's like "oh, never, I don't work out" and he didn't even say it in a believable way, like, even if he was a lard lord the way he said it would have made me think he was lying, but he wasn't; six pack abs and huge arms

      And don't forget:

I seriously think this is the most mentally ill board on IST. That covers a lot of ground.

Serious question for you here: WHY would you ever take advice from these people?
Is it not obvious they have no idea what they're talking about just from reading their posts?
