Things I've taken that didn't fricking do shit:
        >tribulus terrestris
        >ashwaganda
        >green tea extract

        Things that do do shit:
        >arginine or citruline (same big vein effect, increases lift performance)
        >creatine (increases quick power, this is not for size you dumb bloaters)
        >ZMA (feel better waking up, boosts recovery during sleep)
        >ginko biloba (helped with mental clarity during tests and highly mental work)

I've also noticed that NOW is a completely fake brand. They usually have the cheapest supplements but they have zero effect, probably counterfeit Chinese powders as their source ingredients. I have a very strict method of testing supps, I don't take any new ones except for one at a time to pay full attention to its specific effect to see if it's actually doing something. The ones above do nothing and I'm probably forgetting a shit ton. Don't fall for this mushroom marketing scheme either, people are so fricking stupid falling for the same thing every year, or maybe they reach new morons every time by switching the ailment.

I'm with you on ashwagandha not doing anything, but what makes you say NOW is completely fake? I've had pretty good luck with most of their stuff and they usually do pretty well in third-party testing. I trust them more than most of the other brands. Although everybody is basically just testing/relabeling powders they bulk imported from Chinese suppliers.

NOW's B-complex smells bad and makes my piss neon-yellow, so that's real, at least. Glycine is sweet like it should be. Their D-mannose helped clear up UTIs for some women I know. Their sunflower lecithin smells and tastes like sunflower lecithin. What exactly did you buy that you think is fake?

SJW helped.me.overcome panic attacks that I suddenly started experiencing my last semester of college. Doctor wanted.me on Lexapro and beta blockers and that just wrecked me. I had taken SJW before as I explore supplements and nutrition. This time I got serious and took it 3x daily and stuck with it. In a couple months I was back to normal. For a while there I was terrified to any places where lots of people were like Walmart or a lecture hall. I would feel that panic start rising... But sjw really helped me overcome it. To this day I still don't know what triggered it. I had never had any issues like that before, I was 31yo at the time

I avoid ashwagandha due to and also because it did frick-all for me the few times I took it.

I generally don't frick with any of that "oh you need to take it for a while" shit that are either bunk, placebos, or SSRI-like. I also avoid Lion's Mane or generally any substance (Phenibut, Kratom, etc) with entire forums/subreddits dedicated to recovery from long-term side effects.

There are more interesting supplements/herbs out there without fricked up side effects.

      Personally, I like:
      >Agmatine Sulfate (potentiates all sorts of shit, takes the edge off)
      >NAC + Glycine (very promising anti-aging stack, makes the skin look fricking amazing, 1.2g NAC + 5-10g Glycine daily)
      >Taurine (also good, I usually get this from Red Bull)
      >ALCAR (boosts dopamine and acetylcholine levels, repairs dopamine receptors, feels good man)
      >Shilajit (get the Siberian stuff, Indians put cow piss in their product, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKyoc_XkWEQ&t=300s)
      >Ginseng (energizing, I've had good luck with the leaf extract from ND, as well as the Prince of Peace Red Ginseng shots, which actually caused insomnia)
      >Huperzine A (feels like an herbal ADHD/autism med, really chills my autistic gf out and stops meltdowns)
      >Choline (sunflower lechitin/phosphotidylcholine, Alpha-GPC, Citicoline)

I'm careful with taking ginseng long-term because of possible estrogenic effects, but it does boost libido in the short-term, and also has androgenic-like compounds that may balance out, or even raise T.

Also take the regular stuff, D3/Zinc/Fish Oil/Magnesium, etc. Modern diets in first-world countries are notoriously shit. Greasy tendies and fries will frick you up long-term.

A lot of these effects come down to your genetics. My sperged out/ADHD friends and I generally respond well to this shit because our choline systems are fricked and run low. Too much acetylcholine can cause extreme depression and despair, so I've heard. Normies watch out.

          >recommends 1.2g NAC A DAY

1.2g ain't nothing. Anti-aging studies and studies on OCD have used anywhere from 3 to 10 grams. The amount they give people for tylenol overdose is also very high, and intravenous. Consider only ~10% of the oral dose is actually absorbed.

          >no mention of the fact NAC inhibits cell apoptosis and has been linked to growth of tumors

Dose makes the poison, and this is an issue with most antioxidants. If you take so much NAC you push your body into an anti-oxidative state for long periods of time, you'll interfere with apoptosis. Glutathione, the bodies' natural antioxidant that NAC boosts also has the same correlation with cancer risk. But having too low of GSH can also raise cancer risk.

It's all about balance. You have to give the NAC something to work with, like John McAfee once said. Otherwise, yeah, it will mop up the oxidants that your body needs and you'll be fricked.

There are supplements that do work, the calming effects of some herbs in extracts do work. Melissa for example.

Vitamins that are in demand and you have deficiency probably will work too, especially vitamin D in bigger amounts.

Tyrosin (L) is usually fake, because it is precursor of neurotransmitters, but only in special delivery vector, like thyroxin.

So yeah, it is better to have a lot of knowledge.

Most of the supplements are fake though. Maybe collagen is worthwhile too.

Collagen is good for skin, hair, and nails. It makes your hair and nails grow excessively fast though, you'll have to cut them every week. Makes the skin more supple though, coupled with high water intake it can reduce wrinkles.

Retinol and tretinoin are bullshit and I'm surprised the shilling goes so hard with them. It causes skin cells to die faster, thinning the skin significantly. I developed way deeper wrinkles because of it and my skin is all fricked up and old looking now. My theory is that it hurts your face so much burning it with the fricking acid that people use lots of moisturizer to reduce the pain, and the moisturizer is actually what causes their skin to look better. Again drinking water is the best thing for skin. But frick retinol, it's bullshit marketing. Only actually helps if you're trying to heal acne scars, does not help with wrinkles at all.

        >Collagen is good for skin, hair, and nails.
That's true, it is even better for you, if you are eating it in the most ingestible form.

There's not many people that do like it. But for me, chicken meat in jelly ( the original chicken jelly not the one from store sold in bags and looks like plastic pellets ). Is actually very nice treat from time to time.

I like it with white wine vinegar, or balsamic sauce.

I dont mean those abominations from 1950-1970. I mean literally chicken boiled in a water and reduced, bone picked out, added a bit of salt and pepper and greens ( might be whatever you like except starchy ones ).

I did take collagen powdered from a shop after spraining my wrist and ankle.

Yeah, cutting nails is a bit mundane, they grow incredibly fast, and skins likes to get a bit dandruffy, but it's okay, regular showering is the only thing that is required to stop it from happening.

Truth to be told lately i starzed shitting 9n my job and started sleeping during night shifts. I also experimented with 30+ supplements for over year. There are barely any which works and if they work you hav3 to use them in high dosage which can result in some potentional problems if they are used in long term. Vit D is also must for me since i spent my days working at hospital for 13 hours.

      >have used aswaganddha, maca and cordyceps for gym and it worked for me giving me slight boost. For calming effecrs i have used GABA (probably does nothing) L-tryphtophan and valerian (does something) Now i only use melatonin sometimes in small dosage and its best thing for sleeping.
      Ashwaghanda - is crap, literally.
Cordycwpa - works, but I didn't need that.
GABA - when ingested in some form does shit nothing it gets digested and does not even go into your blood-brain barier. Kind of useless.
L-tryptophan - watch out with that one, it works, but is not well suited for humans, there are reported deaths when overused.
Valerian- yes, it works, it works so well it screwed how SSRI and others work. But yeah it is calming.
Melatonin - also doesn't cross the blood - brain barier, but it sets your all organs Ans muscles into a state as if you are asleep and brain kind of follows, I don't know, it seems like it is just acting like storage sedation, as in those occurrences, when somebody get diabetes and falls asleep because of low sugar.

      >I am working in healthcare.

Ashwagandha can be worth it to lower your cortisol levels. I take some every so often. Black Pepper Extract has some good antioxidants so you will be getting a boost to your immune system and lower oxidative stress. Seems like a good supplement to take no matter who you are. Personally I take some cacao powder everyday to lower my cortisol. Makes me feel very focused and relaxed.

I did carnivore before and it did help, but ashwagandha and cacao powder work far better for me. My cortisol levels and oxidative stress has been out of whack for years after a traumatic event that almost killed me, so reasonably I am not the normal baseline for stress and eating plenty of meat will probably work for most people. For me though I need something a bit stronger to keep my stress levels right.

      >You have high cortisol, ummm, ask me, call me, like my profile.
You are selling crap on social media, aren't you. It's just another MLM, Kek.

If you want to reduce cortisol, stop stressful stuff, clean up the mess gradually, start exercising and eat well, maybe change a job to something that you actually enjoy and is not linked with constant competitive behaviour.

I have abnormal levels of stress as I outline here:

I did carnivore before and it did help, but ashwagandha and cacao powder work far better for me. My cortisol levels and oxidative stress has been out of whack for years after a traumatic event that almost killed me, so reasonably I am not the normal baseline for stress and eating plenty of meat will probably work for most people. I don't sell the stuff either. I just buy a bag of cacao powder from the baking section in the grocery store. It does deplete you antioxidants so it is important you get plenty from your diet. My cortisol levels are high enough to eventually kill me if I don't manage them. I don't think the average person really needs it unless they have a very stressful job or are exercising like an olympic athlete. This is just my personal experience with it is they allow me to be a functional person rather than a dysfunctional person.
