14 years and total dyel lifts, still talks like a teenager. The low IQ projections here are off the charts. Have a nice thread.

Tomorrow, you will have even less. Strength is a commodity that isn’t bought or sold. Will you have it when you need it? Even if that day isn’t for another 30 years?

Had a 315lbs bench and can't bench 65lbs now? Were your arms broken for a long time or something? Were you sick?

ran marathon. switch to building a business. legit hardly ate anything and didn't lift or run.

315lbs was long ago. 14 years isn't linear in strength. it comes and goes. 315lbs was when I was really focus'd . eating. shitting. lifting.

you get older your focus changes. 315lbs is nice.

I still want strength . just functional strength.

agreed. I think ill keep it to 1 hour of lifting and not over eating so much and staying lean.

strength and muscles are nice don't get me wrong. its a fun journey.

but use that energy and focus on money and business. truuust me anyone here in their 20s

                >just functional strength
I think if I asked you to define functional strength it would boil down to “whatever I can get without sacrificing free time or working that hard.” Strength is like money. When you have more you can do more. The 30 year old millennials still living at home are displaying “functional wealth” I guess

I lifted for 14 years. I've sacrificed LOTS of free time and worked very hard in the gym. I'm still going after 14 years. HARDLY missed a gym sesh unless I was really sick or covid lock downs.

focus and attention shifts. There is other important things then lifts.

Can you clarify your ‘65lbs for chest’ comment? You meant 65lb dumbbells right? Otherwise, it isn’t adding up

yes did a 3x5 of 65lbs. 1st gym sesh in 3 months. didn't have a diet. I ran a marathon and focus'd on business etc. Got salmonella poisoning from a quaker bar.

I'd imagine my strength will ramp up in the next 3 months. I've noticed in the past that it ramps back pretty fast. 1st gym sesh back is rough. I generally just keep shit pretty light

I would suggest you consider your ‘functional strength’ standard to be the level of the average HS varsity athlete. Mens Varsity. in your case I think I need to be specific. It will vary by sport of course, but they are all typically above average in strength. Strength you can do something with other than sit in front of a screen with your dick in your hand. A collegiate Varsity athlete would be the standard that you can safely say ‘too much’ to

care to share your lifts. time of lifting goals. etc. how much time do you spend in gym / diet.

trying to continue lifting and not letting it take over.

I don’t understand what I’m reading here. You’ve been off for 3 months and you think everything is hugely different? Idgi

Don’t want to look like a gymcel? Ok then have a life. If eating all the time is too much then don’t eat all the time. Do what makes sense to you.

bro take 3 months off and focus on something else. going back is fun and I love lifting. just a new perspective.
