You're probably not training enough. I bought wholesale into the 'don't overtrain bro! junk volume! in and out in 45 minutes to an hour!' shit and thought it was all diet, so would eat as high as 4,500 calories last year and make zero progress and only get fat. Actually did a bit of looking into high volume training, did it, training finally felt satisfying, and finally some progress. My stagnant mid-70's kg bench ballooned up to mid 90's kg in like 10 weeks. I finally had people ask me out of the blue where I gym cause it became obvious I lift weights via the mass gain. All of that on about 3,200 calories a day. So, basically, stop training like a gay pussy. If you have to do 10 sets of bench and 8 sets of a second chest exercise per workout or 40 sets for quads a week, do it. If you get stronger, bigger, and no loss in performance, you're good.
