What was your starting point? DYEL, morbidly obese, skinny fat? What have you been doing to workout?

how much do you weigh? former mega fatty here: push ups and pull ups are hard as frick, start with dumbbells and barbells and build yourself up - ideally lose a ton of weight to make it much easier

this. bodyweight shit is a skinny mans game

so much fat still stored in the neck with collarbones barely visble at all
so much fat still stored in the arms and probably has big fat sausage fingers

Im currently going through the same thing (100kg fatboy) start with incline pushups, plenty of info online about easier variations, do the hardest you can and try and do 5 sets of 10, if you cant finish a set in a certain variation, go to next easiest one to finish. 1 day on 1 day off, then when not sore the next day do 2 on 1 off

i did that and in a month saw some improvement

No, trust me I'm a genetic casualty. I was a fricking twig through grade school and was a skinny fat dork in high school. I sucked at sports and couldn't run a 5k without throwing up.

When I started going to the gym at 18-19 years old I struggled with 95lbs on the smith machine. It took me months to be able to do pushups and bench 1pl8, but guess what I hit it.

I kept doing it, I kept going back, day after day. 5 days a week for nearly a year I would go into the gym and deal with the humiliation and looks of dudes twice my size watching me struggle. I never gave up, I never stopped trying because the frick did I have to lose. When life got in the way I still went to the gym just to at least maintain my gains.

3 years later I'm closing in on a 225lb bench and 3pl8 squat and already have a 1pl8 OHP, I also weigh 50lbs more than I did when I started. Now that I graduated college and work form home, I'm getting back into lifting hard and am fixing past mistakes. I'm so happy I never quit, because now I have a decent base to work with.

My point is that you shouldn't give a frick how long it takes you as long as you do it. You can hit a 225lb bench in 1 year of lifting or 10, but no matter what you are still better than the guy who never did it or never even tried. Don't demotivate yourself, keep pushing forward. The way I see it, the longer you struggle the more you show your resolve and determination, never give up OP.

If you can't do a single push-up, I actually recommend consulting a medical professional.
