I have been having brain fog for a very long time now. I just really want sharp clear focus and mental clarity. I don't have a history of drug use besides weed I do occasionally. It's been a hell of a hassle and I feel like I'm getting moronic. I want to know what helps and what supplements or diets you guys recommend.

Intermittent fasting is supposed to bring clarity, I’d research it. Cigarette highs make me feel enlightened
This anon is right. IF and fasting overall is key for having no brain fog. On another note; creatine, vitamin d and green tea are your friends. You can also occasionally supplement with ashwaghanda, if you feel moody, though it will also relax your body.

Fasting really helps. I feel calm and focused
Don't waste your time with 'muh nootropic' lord now's I did. Nicotine is the goat for clarity and efficiency but the delivery systems all suck and dependence is real. Caffeine is OK but a mid more... chaotic. Plus its really easy to overdo it and miss the productivity window.
How do feel about Adderall etc?
I think gum or vaping for nicotine, easier to quit with these also
I chew half a piece of nicotine gum whenever I need to sit down for a long time and concentrate on something works wonders
blood donation removed my brain fog
Lion’s mane mushroom made me notice the effects the very next day. If you can find them capsules just bite the bullet and try them, the mental clarity and focus is real.
Phenibut is good but tolerance builds up so fast its insufferable.
My recent thing is garlic, I eat about a clove a day, no big deal but totally worth it. My gf hates the smell but how can I explain its for my brainfog.
Brain fog, or a lack of mental clarity, can have many causes, including stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, and certain medical conditions.
To improve your focus and mental clarity, I recommend the following:
Get enough sleep: Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep per night, and try to maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
Eat a healthy diet: Make sure you're getting enough vitamins and minerals by eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive caffeine.
Manage stress: Find ways to manage stress, such as exercise, meditation, or therapy.
Try some brain-training exercises: you can use apps or games that are designed to help improve focus and concentration.
Avoid alcohol, tobacco and drugs like weed as they can worsen brain fog.
Here are some supplements that might help:
Omega-3 fatty acids, which can be found in fish oil supplements
Ginkgo biloba
Bacopa monnieri
Phosphatidylserine
It's important to keep in mind that these supplements are not proven to be effective for everyone and should be used with caution. It's always best to consult with a healthcare professional before taking any supplements.
thanks mr. gpt
>sleep, doet, exercise
100% this. I was also on a nootropic bend, then I started a cut and working out more which cleared my brain fog. I was just tired and eating garbage.
Omega-3 (1000mg of EPA)
Sulbutiamine
Phosphoserine
Alpha-GPC
Nicotine & caffeine if you need the extra kick
I've experimented with a bunch of nootropics and other things to boost mental clarity. I'm an engineering student and do freelance web development on the side as well as lifting, so I've had to optimize my brain as much as possible to efficiently do work. Here's what worked for me.
Lifestyle:
- sleep a minimum of 7 and ideally 8 hours per night. Wake up at roughly the same time every day (8am for me, but pick what works). If you don't get enough sleep one night, go to bed earlier the next day, don't sleep in.
- Carb heavy meals leave me sluggish for an hour or two after. Fasting seems to give me energy and mental clarity, and eating fat/protein doesn't break this clarity like carbs do. I like carbs for fitness benefits, but try to eat them in the evening after I work.
- avoid endless phone scrolling, vidya, masturbation or other "cheap dopamine" type activities.
- Cold showers, sauna, high intensity cardio or any other activity that spikes adrenaline gives a natural high that feels about as strong as cocaine or adderall. You need to get an adrenaline rush though, so if you're not shocking your body there's no mental benefit.
- Work out regularly for more energy, but don't overexert yourself to the point you're tired.
supplements/drugs
- caffeine is an obvious one, pairs well with theanine if it gives you anxiety.
- weed and alcohol both give me brain fog not only during the high but for a few days after, if you use these regularly consider stopping.
- modafinil is a nice drug for energy and focus. It's not as euphoric or addicitive as adderall, but it will let you feel wide awake and mentally clear for 8-10 hours.
- adderall or other amphetamines work VERY well, but are incredibly addictive. I use this often, likely more than I should, but it is easily the most effective drug for mental performance. Ideally don't take it more than 2-3 days a week, and take the lowest dose that gives you benefits to avoid tolerance.
part 2
- psychedelic microdoses also boost energy and lift brain fog, and will benefit your creatvity rather than the raw energy of stimulants. Psilocybin is better than LSD in my opinion, but the absolute best microdose nootropic is 2CB. If you can get this, 1-2mg will do great for productivity. It feels like a cross between adderall and psilocybin, with less tolerance or side effects than either.
- If you're stuck in negative thought patterns or a bad routine, a strong psychedelic trip can help break you out of them. I find DMT the best for this purpose, but any trip will work.
- Ketamine can reverse tolerance to many other drugs and help with addiction depression and anxiety. The trip itself is fun but ultimately useless, but the benefits come from the after effects. I am at my most productive for the 2 weeks following the use of ketamine.
- kratom can be useful for productivity, specifically the white strains. It is very euphoric without being sedating, and can make any activity enjoyable. If you struggle to focus and often procrastinate, it's much easier to stay on task on kratom. Addictive, so keep it to low doses 2-3 days a week.
- phenibut is similar to kratom, although more beeficial for social situations. Keep this to once per 7 days max. It's the most effective "autism cure" out there and can help a lot with confidence. Stacks very well with stimulants.
- nicotine is a great focus enhancer, and with no tolerance is comparable to amphetamine in its effect. Tolerance builds incredibly fast and its the most addictive drug I've taken (I've done adderall, cocaine, xanax, PCP, molly and some other recreational stuff), so don't take this unless you have strong self-control. I've stopped using it since the downsides outweigh the benefits.
Part 3
beyond drugs and biohacking stuff, you also need to learn how to work. Focus and productivity is a skill, and like any skill it needs to be trained, and certain methods are better than others. I personally use a modified version of the pomodoro method, where I will set aside a 2 hour block to work, focus entirely on my task for 25 mins then take a 5 min break, usually stretching, light cardio or listening to music. All 4 sub-blocks in the 2 hour block should be the same task. When the 2 hours ends, take a longer break, 30-60 mins then start another block after this. The long break should be mentally relaxing, something like eating a meal, working out, socializing or even watching a show. Try to seperate the place you relax from the place you work. Have a plan before you start working, and clearly identify how you will start, what you will do and what is the goal. Breaking down your task like this makes procrastination less likely, and having defined end points where you know you'll be able to relax will make it easier to stay focussed for the needed time.
These strategies work both sober and enhanced, although when using strong stimulants I will usually skip the 5 min breaks, instead doing a full 2 hour block of work. When using nootropics/study drugs, start working, then take the drug to optimize its effect. Most drugs take 20-30 mins to kick in, so by the time it activates you'll have already started working, and won't risk getting distracted and "wasting" the benefits.
Hope some of this helps you and let me know if you've got any other questions.
Incredibly based. I'm also an engineering student and follow the same strategies in terms of sleep, meals, and productivity as you.
I haven't had experience with the drugs like you have, mostly just trying to utilize caffeine and tyrosine. During one exam period I used a nicotine vape and saw some focus benefits, but I think the negatives definitely outweigh the positives there.
Do you listen to music while working? I get “bored” ish and have a hard time focusing on one thing if I don’t have anything in the background, even just instrumentals. I know it’s attention span-related since I do a lot of scroolling too.
50/50 on music. I can't handle anything with lyrics since the words can end up interrupting my own thoughts, so it's mostly EDM while I work. I tend to like repetitive house and techno music that typically gets me hyped, but is easy to keep in the background. I go to a lot of raves as well, so have a strong positive association with this music, and it elevates my dopamine levels.
>posting a video from some shitskin that rambles for half an hour just to say sleep, drink water, dont drink too much caffeine and exercise
All you really need is caffeine and l-theanine. Having a 'stack' or popping a ton of pills and powders isn't going to make you smarter, nor 'enhance' how well you learn. It's just an excuse to get high but not be associated with stoner culture.
The only real nootropic is Adderall but it's pharmacology works to repair an inefficiency rather than 'enhance' how you think, it's not like the pills from Limitless.

Whats up with NAC? any bad side effects? I heard from the jre podcast with David Sinclair that this stuff is supposed to help prevent aging and overall make you healthier.
Any truth to it? Any experiences?
doesn't do anything whatsoever for almost anyone. took off because a conspiracy theory started that the government was going to ban it because it cures covid. neither thing happened
what about nmn?
what about it? getting 5% better sleep is more important than any supplement you will ever take
looking at cell phone less is 250% more important than any supplement you will ever take
sleep and not looking at a cell phone dont prevent aging
uhh yes they do lol
some random supplement sure as frick doesn't
sources for either of those?
NMN has research showing that supplementing it can increase life spans in mice by 20-30%
>NMN has research showing that supplementing it can increase life spans in mice by 20-30%
go ahead and go through life using stuff like this to make your decisions and arguing with people older and more educated than you
>never heard of the supplement
>its bullshit
>im older than you so you should listen to me
ok boomer
you go spend your money on NMN bro, you'll stop aging. surely.
this one non replicated mouse study showed! lmao
its $20 every 3 months, are you poor, boomer? Not enough immigrants paying your pensions?
>surely there could never be any negative effects to just taking random research chemicals
go ahead lil bro
base your human nutrition research around non replicable mouse studies 🙂
you think you're arguing with me or something, lol
why does calling you a boomer shatter your ego? Youre getting really upset and ignoring the original question.
Didnt your war veteran father ever teach you to shut the frick up if you dont know something?
>insult gets completely ignored
>I SHATTERED YOUR EGO
you're the exact type of person who thinks supplements are going to solve his problems.
>goes into extremely niche supplement thread
>tells everyone supplements are moronic
autism
extremely niche yeah bro like the 30 other supplement threads a day
thinking supplements fix problems is magical thinking. get better sleep and move away from roads
0% of you ever talk about tbhpplementing asbestos brake dust and it's the most important micro"nutrient" you get
>hey bro is this d3 supplement going to help me gain muscle
>YOU NEED TO MOVE OUT OF THE CITIES AND STOP USING TECHNOLOGY ITS KILLING YOU
>is x supplmenet going to help me gain muscle
and the answer is no, like in every thread, about every supplement
thats just not true
creatine is proven to help, and so is d3 among others
>"proven"
dude creatine is the biggest nothing of all time...you gain water weight on it
holy frick the people who come to this board. so desperate for magic pills
you're both gays shitting up the thread, stfu
No IST an hour before bed
>nootropics
just lol. for real though the best 'nootropic' is LISS cardio. do 3-400 minutes per week of liss cardio and tell me you still have brain fog lmao. another anon mentioned donating blood which is aanother good way. from a supplement perspective i will offer 1 thing that is very cheap. thiamine (B1). thiamine hcl like 2-300mg a day is incredibly cheap and can be a bit of a miracle pill for stress related brain and digestive problems.
nicotine is the best but too many sides
a shit ton of people need methyl b vitamins as they can't methylate themselves because of missing enzymes
i went my entire life not knowing this. thank god my mom took b vitamins and folate and shit during pregnancy or i would've come out even more tarded.
test
stuff 4 nicotine gums in your cheeks and make sure to keep chewing and swallow the nicotine laced saliva for max buzz
L-theanine is pretty good, ashwagandha makes me feel calm and focused, nicotine is good for short term memory. Check this video out if brain fog is an issue for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoR72-aM4mI
