Don't worry you wont see me there, the only time I'm on the road is when I'm in the city driving to/from all the dirt/gravel roads in the countryside.

Took the bike pill starting in July and I've been loving it so far. Picked up a cheap hybrid bike on craigslist. I used to do boring cardio on treadmills at the gym but I love exploring the area around me and grabbing a pint after a solid ride. Is strava the best app to track your rides? Any point in going premium on the app? I was looking for local trails and paths other people do and strava seems to gatekeep it behind thier premium service.

Get Komoot, you will get your local map for free.

Get free strava and follow a bunch of people in your area. You'll get to see which routes they use. Eventually you'll get a premium trial offer - take it and access the premium stuff, then cancel the offer before you have to pay for premium. That's what I did and it let me get the most out of the app without paying anything.

Komoot really is great. Especially if you want to avoid traffic. It helped me discover plenty of new rides near a place i had been living for 20+ years.

I love cycling myself but some cyclists really make me cringe. Whats up with the dudes who wear a professional teams kit? Why wear a Jumbo Visma and Alpecin kit as a nobody? Thats like playing football in the park in the Real Madrid or Bayern kit.. Thats something kids do.

Use it as motivation to smoke them on a climb. Depending on where you live they might actually be pros though. I see some from time to time.

100% not pro's, just some wannabe's. Its just pathetic and cringe
