About the only good thing about working from the office once a week is that I get to ratfuck the break room for healthy snacks like apples and nuts. But honestly food isn't insanely expensive. If you can't afford $6 for a pound of pork chops, for example, you have bigger issues.

    Get a membership to costco or bj's and buy protein powder in bulk. My local grocery store also has sales on bone-in chicken breast for 0.99/lb sometimes; keep an eye out for sales like that. Visit your local ethnic markets, too, and take advantage of whatever meat they're trying to get rid of.

    Protein shake:
    2scoop whey protein
    2 raw eggs
    Peanuts
    Frozen spinach

    Meal 3:
    Ground beef/pork mix, or tuna, or canned chicken, or more eggs, amounting to +30g's protein
    Quarter of a hothouse tomato
    Broccoli
    Usually cheese
    Made up in tacos, wraps, or rice bowl form

    Meal 4:
    3/4 of dried Navy Beans cooked up in my instapot
    Cut up apple into it
    Milk
    Honey

    This is what I eat every day. My monthly grocery expenses are usually under $300 depending how well I catch the sales at Costco, although the ground beef is almost never on sale. I started cutting the ground beef with ground pork and getting their canned chicken too because beef is getting so expensive.

    If I really wanted to cut costs, I could stop getting the ground beef and pork altogether, but I don't wanna go on a full canned meats and eggs diet until I'm in a state of financial desperation.

    Eating food is not something that hurts my budget.

    I actually stopped tracking my intake of protein and calories, because i cannot afford to eat enough protein.

    Mentally I can’t handle seeing the numbers anymore, so I decided to stop tracking and just focus on the gym and maximising how I train instead.

    Plus I’m not mentally stressed about not hitting X number of protein and X number of calories since I don’t know how much I’m eating anymore so it’s sort of like just digging my head in the sand type of issue and hoping for the best
