bodybuilders are weaklings

it's so funny whenever some huge bodybuilder shows up for our muay thai class they always think their size is an advantage but in sparring i show them it's really not (i am 5'7). i never hold back and when the round is over they wont be able to train legs for a week. i love to put them into their place. they are always weak and slow

No, you use your fricking head as a man or you die. Don't pick fights for no goddamn reason and if given the opportunity to deescelate, you do it.
Dumbasses who think some arbitrary level of strength or martial arts skill means they can just get into fights don't live very long.

It's my preference. I always pick the biggest dude who's close to my skill level. I nearly always come out worse for wear but it's a great learning experience. Mind you it's pointless to pick someone much bigger AND better than you because you'll just get obliterated and not really learn anything from it apart from maybe not doing it anymore.

Also traditional muay thai classes never (very rarely for professionals) go hard in sparring. If you were doing that at the gym I go to, you'd get kicked out, you larper.

So you like beating up guys who don't fight? Good for you I guess.
What I do know is this. A muscular fit body will put you in a good position for a combat sport because you can focus almost entirely on the skill aspect & actually getting good without a weak body hindering you. Imagine being new to a Muay Thai class & also having an untrained body, that's going to take even more work

lanklets never hesitate to praise someone who picks a fight with someone shorter than them, but always use these cute little copes when the reverse happens. the only thing more fragile than a lanklet's bones is their ego

                Anonymous

I disagree. Being able to throw a solid punch and defending yourself while staying balanced on your feet and mobile is the most important. You aren't going to do fancy shit. Frick up that kick you are throwing off your balance, or the opponent can catch it and do a myriad of gruesome things that would be banned in a Muay Thai competition fight.

                >You aren't going to do fancy shit. Frick up that kick you are throwing off your balance
I don't get why you boxers think kicks are fancy. A normal rear kick to the thigh is one of the most basic moves people learn on day 1. It's not very slow and doesn't throw you off balance too hard. It'd be about as telegraphed/slow as a right hook. Front kicks are even easier to throw, especially quickly and without losing balance.

                >A leg kick is fancy.
You've never been in a fight and your leg is getting folded from beneath you the moment you put weight on it to throw a punch.

Doesn't have to be a rear kick that cripples someone's leg. A MT fighter can just front kick someone's balls in a street fight (not allowed in Muay Thai Pro fights).

I swear to god boxers are the biggest morons on the planet. I just hope this is bait but I know for a fact boxers believe this shit. No defense against leg kicks, no defense against kicks in general, they just bring their hands down and get popped in the head. I don't think there has ever been an instance where a boxer beat a kickboxer of any kind where kicks are allowed, if I'm wrong I would love to see it.

It's already been established that at a draw within 2m a knife is deadlier than a gun, so I think it would be reasonable to argue that if you know what you're doing and you're within that distance you're better off knowing how to fight than having a gun. A kick to the balls and/or a punch to the throat and you're fricked, except if you know BJJ, then you're gonna get shot lol

If Shaw manages to grab him quickly and pin him down it might be ogre just due to his sheer weight and strength difference, would be able to choke him out pretty quickly. Otherwise Ngannou will knock him out if he gets the chance.
