Bonglads, where are you buying your protein from?

Just bought 5kg from Myprotein and got stung for over £90.
Looked back in my order history and a few years ago it was only £42.

The £90 was WITH a 45% discount.

I can't help but feel like that kind of price increase is a bit beyond 3 years of inflation, and that Myprotein is just ripping me off.

Any cheaper high-quality alternatives?

Myprotein was fricking gross, I never liked it. Suspiciously cheap and now they are ripping chumps off.

a large egg is 6g of protein, 4 eggs would give you 24 grams which is the exact number as an optimum nutrition scoop

Pre-coof, I used to take advantage of the Holland and Barratt BOGOF on whey, which meant I was paying about ~£15/kg. This year, whey from Decathlon at about £22/kg, no special offers.

I go on Amazon and sort by lowest price and look for unflavoured. I never notice a difference between whey brands. Amazons own brand thing sucks though.

I have a close friend who works in the industry. Prices for whey produced from China are way up due to various corona related restrictions inside the country, those rose so much that they are about the same price as sourcing whey from the US/UK now (although they still produce it on a larger scale). Myprotein prices for onions protein haven’t raised much, as the raw material price hasn’t really raised either. Everywhere you will try to get whey from right now will be heavily inflated due to China cutting supply.

      This right here.
Bodybuilding Depot in Germany is extremely open about their pricing policy and this is their purchasing price curve since last feb. for isolate.
EU import restrictions are then taking their toll as well.
      Shit is nuts.

That being said, I'll gladly shill for bodybuilding depot for German fitizens. Independent lab tests are published, andre is very open about their pricing and they sell 20kg sacks if you ever want to buy bulk.

This nutri sport stuff is still £45 to £50 for 5kg.

It tastes bad. But it's tolerable.

How does that taste with water? My current bag is almost done, and looking to get something that doesn't make me want to puke.

I'm usually fussy but I can drink the banana with water, tastes quite nice imo.

I tried to go with myprotein competitors also mate because of the prices but it's just not worth it. Nothing mixes as well or tastes as nice as myprotein.

I ordered bulk from Amazon and the creatine they sent was half the size of what I paid for, and both the chocolate & vanilla 1kg bags were rancid, literally rotten. It could be because I ordered them from amazon and maybe Bulk as a brand is usually okay but I'm not risking it again. The only thing of the 5 items I ordered that was fine was the protein pancake mix.

    try casein?

That seems like it would be better than whey tbh. Why don't more people buy caesin instead??

idk Ive tried both and couldnt tell the difference
        they both come from milk
I think whey has better aminoacid profile but casein has more minerals like calcium and stuff
