    I saw this exact same post a couple days ago I was conflicted because while she was on a platform with bumper plates she also was excessively throwing the weights, normally you would step out under and behind the bar, maybe guide it a bit down with your hands before letting go but she was straight up throwing the bar down like a medicine ball, the bar was bouncing off the ground and high enough up to waist level like a basketball

    I had a new gym staffer run up and tell me not to drop weights one time. Black person these are bumper plates and I just finished my last OHP rep feeling faint and needed to just dump it. Luckily the gym owner is a good dude and actually lifts himself

        I do. I take the safeties off for OHP and squats too. No need if I'm using bumpers. It'd actually be more likely to cause damage if I dropped a loaded barbell in freefall onto the pins than just letting the bumper plates absorb the shock on the floor

    Yeah and this is pretty essential part of the arguement. If you are an elite lifter and you compete and you are part of a local powerlifting club and you train with those memebers in the same gym, then its acceptable.

    I have personally never seen people lift heavy enough of weight that it would have required them to drop and smash the plates. You are an absolute fricking clown for smashing down 1pl8 and after that doing a walk out acting like you just conquered the entire world.

    Even worse when its with dumbbells. There was this one roided freak with blood pressure so high I thought he was about to drop dead from the pissing and moaning and he was throwing down literally fricking 20kg dumbbells like they were 100kg. I told him the next time you slam those womens weights down Im going to beat the frick out of you.

    He reported me to the staff and I got banned for a week lol
