Bradly Cooper dead lifted 425lbs on camera for his Chris Kyle role (pic related, real weight) why aren't you deadlifting that much?
Bradly Cooper dead lifted 425lbs on camera for his Chris Kyle role (pic related, real weight) why aren't you deadlifting that much?
That's a block pull moron
I don't deadlift because it's pointless for aesthetics and the number one gym-related cause of lifelong chronic pain.
I assume you have a source for that?
yep
Ah, here come the 20%+ BF powershitters.
kek weighted pullups is my strongest lift
my bf% is whatever, I accidentally lost some weight during COVID lockdown and now have visible abs from sitting on my ass for 2 years
you are clearly only here to troll, ngmi
>my bf% is whatever, I accidentally lost some weight during COVID lockdown and now have visible abs
So you're fat, got it. A healthy, athletic male has a visible six-pack.
Mad.
I guesss only XL hides those b***h breasts?
>So you're fat
>A healthy, athletic male has
>athletic
how many pullups can you do?
what is your 5k run time?
RDLs are godly and you're a fricking moron
>lifelong chronic pain
yeah if you do it wrong you fricking idiot
frail b***h
homosexual
Believe it or not, more people injure themselves squatting.
Enjoy forever looking small as soon as you as you put a shirt on, you weak b***h.
Fat
At least you won't have to worry about growing out of all those size M shirts your mom bought you
475lb deadlift, never any problems at all
225lb smith machine squat sent me to snapville
You see all the b***hes in yoga pants doing RDL's?
Yeah it's a perfect exercise to show off your butt, but it's also the greatest exercise ever for your hamstrings and glutes.
So even if you're a homoerotic "aesthetics only bro", you should at least do those in moderate rep ranges. They grow your ass which your sauna buttbuddies can mire, and they strengthen your entire posterior chain which is functionally useful for literally fricking everything.
im inclined to believe that youre doing them wrong
>verification not required
>lifting it from 12-14" blocks
This has to be a troll or you have zero idea what you're talking about. Any newbie with a little grip strength could pull that, with those elevating blocks it literally bypasses the most difficult sticking point of the movement, doing only the top quarter of the DL is basically just a short range of hip hinging in a mechanically highly-advantaged position
>Trap bar
>High blocks
>Deadlift
No
What’s wrong with a trap bar? It makes sure your form stays good.
It changes the mechanics and the grips are a lot higher so it's a reduced rom
Bullshit. You’re doing the same lift except you don’t have to risk blowing out your lower back quite the same.
I’m not talking about a trap bar on blocks I mean just a trap bar deadlift
A hex bar doesn't change the load on your back
Yes it does
Moving the grip position to your sides rather than in front of you reduces the degree of hip hinge and makes it more quad dominant. A hex bar mechanically is more similar to a hack squat or leg press than it is a deadlift.
Why do people insist on spreading this lie?
Sorry that you're a brainlet anon.
>trap bar deadlift is more like a hack squat or leg press
It's more of a hip hinge than a sumo deadlift or squat
It's nothing like a leg press unless you have gorilla arms and midget legs
not him but you're wrong
Wrong
I'm sorry you have dwarf legs, Stumpy
moron
>hurr durr my hip hinge is a SKWAT AKTUACLLY
keep telling yourself that moron
>lower back hinge lift is mechanically more similar to two machines that involve zero lower back
Have you ever done any of the exercises you mentioned?
Are you stupid. You might aswell say you want everything to be easy you little b***h.
>I’d rather risk blowing out my lower back lifting the same weight just because it makes me look le tough
You’re the stupid one
t. weak coping man
Doing it for looks? Might as well chop off your wiener you little fricking girlie b***h
>It makes sure your form stays good
Nothing is wrong with a trap bar. It's a good deadlift substitute for those who don't have good mobility or form. Fat powerlifters will try to gatekeep deadlifting.
It's like doing low bar squats to parrallel instead of atg
>trap bar block pull from above the knee
I bet I could rep 600 with ease
People shouldn't care so much about the deadlift. I deadlift over 700 and I look like shit. If I wanted to look good I'd do pull ups, dips, and kettlebell swings.
>deadlift 700 and look like shit
are you fat?
Yes, I gave up trying to be lean when all the heavy squats and deads made me have a fridge torso that looked like shit anyway
I have a ton of hypertrophy, that's the problem
If you just took time off deadlifts and squats and did a cut your waist would shrink down and you could focus on getting really good at upper body compounds and isolations to balance it out
So you're a fat fricking moron. You should have lead with that.
be nice to the special needs man or he might give you a hug you don't come back from
>all the heavy squats and deads made me have a fridge torso that looked like shit anyway
that's not a thing
It was just him being a fatass even when he thought he wasn't and blaming it on the squats/deadlifts.
Okay. I deadlift 400 and look good. You'd look good if you did your heavy as frick deadlifts in a way as to induce hypertrophy too.
That’s bullshit. Nobody who deadlifts that much would look like shit. I’m guessing you don’t actually lift that much.
Crossfit troony
Looks like 315, and a high pull. He was probably around 200 pounds. Not impressive at all
Fake weights.
>high block and only 3pl8
People here are shitting on him but knowing movies he probably had to do that scene like 20 times over and over. Doing 20 sets of 315lbs isnt really fun.
Which is why he used fake weights. I don't know why OP is claiming those were real. Even if a press release claims they were, that's about as believable as all the Marvel actors who claim to have "naturally" gotten swole for their roles.
>but knowing movies he probably had to do that scene like 20 times over
It's a Clint Eastwood movie, the guy is famous for always using the first and only take, no matter how shitty it is.
>hexbar rackpull. I can do that from the ground and I'm half his size. Kwab
I can deadlift a lot more than 425 pounds
Because that's my 1st set and then I bump it up 10 pounds every set after for 5 sets of 3 reps each
I could do at least 800 like that.
His gf in that movie was hot as heck. I remember jacking off to her in those dark jeans she'd wear in the theater. Damn good movie
Because I’m in my 40’s and I don’t need to max out. I’m just trying to keep living. I dead lift 225 5x3 every workout and that’s good enough for me.
I'm a lot skinnier than Bradley Cooper and I used to do 365x5 (actual deadlift, not whatever he's doing)
the most difficult part of the deadlift is the lift off the ground. if you use 50 drop pads like "Bradly" there, you're doing 1/3 of the ROM and making the exercise 10x easier
>10x easier
>lift 100kg off the ground
>use mats until I'm at 1/3 the ROM
>can't lift 1000kg
you’re probably gay then
The weights are already a foot or more off the ground.
Before IST I swear this dude looked like a Goliath bearmode. Now that fit has rotted my brain cells he looks like a dyel powershitter
