What kind of diet and how far into it are you?
No named diet, just 1000-1500 below bmr daily. eating chicken, eggs, veggies and tortillas mainly. 2 weeks in.
I write code for a living, my ability to work has dropped a lot.
30g coffee a day
>1000-1500 below bmr daily.
what?
bro you are fricking the dieting up big time you wont be able to sustain it
Well you need to look at your goals and timeline. You want to lose weight quickly and a 1000-1500 deficit a day will do that. Unfortunately it also seems like you want to be comfortable at work, not be tired and frustrated all day, not get brainfogged out of existence, and presumably still continue your workouts. Weightloss is great but you need to admit to yourself that weightloss isnt your only priority. There will be an adjustment period to a deficit no matter what, but try a gentler one like -500-1000 a day and see how you keep up with life then.
I am doing the 1 meal a day thing, and I eat till I'm full basically, and did the calorie calculation after.
Maybe I should add a smaller meal a few hours after the main meal?
A lot of people here say OMAD works great but I could never get ahead of the cravings, especially being around cakes and biscuits in the coffee room at work. Having a small breakfast of nuts and a lunch of veggies got me through the work day much easier. If OMAD is fricking you up try spreading some calories out through the day. Try a more usual schedule and add one fasting day per week.
At the end of the day if cutting weight was really your only priority I would be in here telling you to stop whigning and deal w/ it. You have a whole life you want to balance and you need to experiment to see what suits the big picture.
ty for the advice anons, I guess I gotta add another meal since I can't really eat more than 1500 at once. Also noted for more protein.
strive mostly these days
Not being able to react to a nago who spams fukyo->bloodsucking at every opportunity made me realize my brain was likely more fricked than I realized.
>1000-1500
Dafuq? I eat a total of 2000 calories a day. How are you still alive?
I eat 2,000cal on a cut, my TDE is 3120cals.
OP, if you're only 2 weeks in and feel this way it ain't getting better. Infact, it gets a lot worse when you're 20 weeks in. Maintain a deficit of 500cal max per day, lift and track macros. 1g protein per 1lbs of bodyweight minimum or you'll experience muscle wastage.
> 1000-1500 below bmr
There's your problem. Literally starving your brain of fuel.
>How the frick am I supposed to deal with this for the 3-4 months it takes to lose 20lbs?
Tough it out homosexual.
You are chugging coffee right?
You are tough and can deal with it because you are strong when others need you.
Those symptoms are for someone who just stops eating. It shouldn't be that bad for a 500 calorie cut. You might have a bad day or two, but you'll adjust.
your brain prefers ketones
what fighting game do you play?
>e
Depriving yourself of nutrients particularly b vitamins will result in less NAD with the consequence being exhaustion as you have described. You need to provide the body what it needs to metabolize food and create energy. look into flush niacin (nicotinic acid) do not take any other form of niacin. Only flush niacin is safe and effective. the flush will go away after a few days of consistent doses. Work up to 500mg-1g after each meal. Diets are deficient in b3 to begin with and when you go on a cut you are worsening the situation. Also make sure you are eating nutritious foods not just highly processed foods. Every day eat whole grains, 2 whole eggs , a serving of high quality meat, and fruits and vegetables to fill out the rest of your calories, potatoes are a great option too. Things like white bread, processed cereals and frozen pizzas are going to make cutting much more difficult. additionally don't exceed a deficit of 500 calories per day. I find that a 350-400 cal deficit is easy for me to stick to. Walk in your spare time to lower cortisol. Eat fruit to lower cortisol and stimulate your thyroid to keep your metabolism going.
