        Don't stretch before lifting, idiot. You don't prime muscles for the task of bracing under a large load by first yanking them beyond their range of motion and weakening them. Warm up for a lift by doing that lift lighter.

          But what if the muscles are tight from not being used all day? You would want to loosen them up first before placing them under extreme stress. When you sit for 4 straight hours, you can barely stand up right away because everything is tight. The solution is definitely not to just fricking send it.

            Stretching IS putting them under extreme stress. Dynamic stretching/regular fricking warm-up is the only viable option.

            the lift includes a stretch, do it under light load and get some blood moving
            static stretching is something to be done regularly but not immediately before or after lifts

            Did you not read the part about doing the lift but just lighter??? Eg. start with bar for set or two. Then keep adding weight at reasonable pace until you get to your work set load. If more stiff fir reason or another then do more warmup sets. That simple

            1. Take your under strain lift number

            2. Divide it by two

            3. Lift that for an easy 10 or so reps

            4. If working your arms, get them moving a little. Make big circles moving your arms forwards, make big circles moving your arms backwards.

            You are now ready to lift heavy. Do that for anything you feel tight with. If you don't feel tight, which you might not after a couple of lifts, then simply don't do it because you're already warm. I only really feel the need to do this with my starting couple of exercises, and each time I do triceps stuff like cable pulldown or dips.

      I once passed out with the bar over my head after a clean and press. It wrecked my entire body for a week and the concussion left me without a sense of smell for a year. Lessons were learned that day.

    I’ve sprained my neck a bunch of times doing ohp. Nothing you can do but wait. Usually takes a 3-7 days for it to heal. Idk if you have the same injury I’m describing but it’s when it hurts to move your neck and looks pushed forward.

    Been lifting for years including deadlifts and rdls, I have never injured myself other than by lifting something above my shoulders.

      only time i injured myself was when i was putting a 45lb plate back on the rack and didnt see a 5lb plate on the floor. Stepped on it at an angle, rolled my ankle, and snapped my ankle.
