    1 plate = 20 kg
    2 plate = 40 kg
    3 plates = 60 kg
    Etc...

    1/2/3/4 refers to a goal that a lot of new lifters aim for so that they have something to work towards. The goal is to lift 1 plate for overhead press, 2 plates for bench, 3 plates for squats, and 4 plates for deadlift.

      To be clear it means 1 plate on each side of the bar. So a one plate OHP = 40kg OHP (obviously the bar doesnt count)

        3 plates for bench. Bar is 20kg, plus 60kg on either side of the bar. 1.5 plates for OHP. 20kg bar, plus 30kg on either side of the bar.

    I still haven’t bothered to learn how bulking and cutting work. I now bulking is putting on muscle and fat and cutting is trimming the fat so that only muscle remains, but I have no idea what to do to bulk or cut, or if I’m supposed to consistently cycle between the two.

    I assume you mean 1/2/3/4.
    It means being able to lift:
    OHP - 1pl8 (45 freedom units or 20.4 yuropoor units on EACH SIDE, not counting the bar)
    Bench - 2pl8 (90 freedom units or 40.8 yuropoor units on EACH SIDE, not counting the bar)
    Squat - 3pl8 (135 freedom units or 61.2 yuropoor units on EACH SIDE, not counting the bar)
    Deadlift - 4pl8 (180 freedom units or 81.6 yuropoor units on EACH SIDE, not counting the bar)
    In all of these lifts, you must use a standard Olympic bar, which weighs 45 freedom units or 20.5 yuropoor units, or else it doesn't count.
    So if an anon claims he can lift 3pl8 deadlift, it means he can lift ((45lb * 3)2 + 45lb) which is a total of 315lb or 142.9kg.

        Just remember 1 OHP, 2 Bench, 3 Squat then 4 Deadlift.
        1 pl8 is means "1 plate each side". 2 pl8 means "2 pl8 each side" and so on...
        Each plate is 45lb.
        The bar in its own is 45lb.

    X pl8 just means that there's x amount of 20kg/45lbs plates on one side of the bar, multiply by two and add the bars weight and you got the total
    Example 2pl8 means 4x45lbs so 180 plus the bar 255lbs or 100kg
    It's a neat way to dumb down big numbers and have a quick equivalent between lbs and kilo
