Bullied at the gym

What should I have done?

>be me
>31 year old Norwood 7
>January 1st decide to get fit
>three weeks going strong
>Friday night, busy gym
>only rack at my gym
>it’s empty
>set up for bench press
>finish first set
>2 chad 21 year old Norwood 1s approach
>”can we work in mate”
>”y-yeah no problem”
>maybe I’ll make some friends
>maybe they’ll help me get pussy
>maybe they’ll teach me how to get fit
>I help them take my weights off and put theirs on
>stand around awkwardly while both of them complete their set
>they dont acknowledge me at all
>after 2nd one finishes I go to remove their weight
>”can we help you mate?”
>”uhhh you guys done?”
>they both look at each other and laugh
>”go away man”
>they start benching again
>I awkwardly walk away and use the dumbbells to bench

I feel like never going back to the gym. Ive never felt so emasculated in my entire life. Should I report this to the gym staff?

You were definitely a pussy, but it's just a lesson not to let people work in anymore. They can either wait until you're done or frick off.

I think you misunderstood what they said anon. They just wanted to use the machine and asked whether they could, you said yes. And anybody would get a bit wierded out when you just stare at them working out for a while. Just go to gym tomorrow and work out.

No definitely not. They told me to “get that side” and then told me what weight they were using to put on for them. I even put the clips on for them. They wanted the rack and tricked me into getting it.

if you think you were humiliated you were, bro. why would you even get their weights for them? they may smile each time they see you from now on, so if I were you I would change the gym and didn't try to make friends with anyone there(and God forbid you tryna make a move there...). I never make even small acquitances because then you have to say hi every time, and then one of you stops doing that... It's weird man, keep going.

Your best revenge is pretending it never happened. Go to the gym and just keep going on as usual.

          > if I were you I would change the gym
Why should he do that, you low T pussy?

Well what would you have done big man? That’s what I’m asking. There was two of them so not like I could have got into a fight.

The only option I can think of is to tell the reception lady and maybe she’ll ban them but I’m scared she’ll laugh at me and the comments so far aren’t easing that fear.

        >Well what would you have done big man? That’s what I’m asking
How big were they? I'm 6'3 and probably would have escalated this event, potentially into a fight. That's not me being a tough guy, I'm actually a super nice guy, but the scene you described is 100% an example of something I'd get tilted at. Then again, if someone asked me to work in, I'd say "yeah, lets all take turns, would you mind spotting me on my turn?" or something like that, clearly establishing that I intend on continuing with the bench.

Make no mistake OP, 95% of people aren't fighters. If you shouted WHAT THE FRICK?! and slammed a weight on the ground with a wild look in your eyes, even young people who MOG you would probably go "y... yo ... chill o.. out man!"

Not that tall. I’m taller. But I didnt want to escalate just in case they call my bluff. I wear glasses and if they fall off, I can’t see a thing. I would get my head caved in at worst and provide more opportunity for bullying at best.

They detected weakness on you. I know shoulda coulda woulda, but the proper reaction to "go away lol" would have been to lean in and say
            >What was that.....?
            >WHAT WAS THAT?! SORRY MAN THE MUSIC IS A BIT LOUD IN HERE

leaning in, obnoxiously loud, making a bit of a scene if you have to, and looking at him like pic rel. Learn and know how to respond for next time.

tbh op theres not much you could do.
you were under the impression they actually wanted to 'work in' and they acted like buttholes and told you go go away. theres nothing that can be done short of starting an altercation.
if they try to do it again just tell them to frick off.

this. ignore them from now on. if they frick with you again then stand your ground or if it's 2 on 1 again complain to gym staff. im sorry i got bullied by an butthole at my last job too but I cleaned up my image and got bigger so they stopped.

Just un-rack the weights calmly. Lean into your inner sperg and draw strength from it. They’re not going to stop you, and if they do, congrats on your comfy NEET lifestyle after the lawsuit. They can report you to gym staff, who would probably take your side on the issue. But this would be a soft move by them (and by you - don’t tell staff).
You’re a dumbass for trying to work in with 2 people who came in together.

Op could literally be the first ever gym cuckold. He got the bench warm as best his feeble body would allow, meekly allowed two younger, more virile males access to his bench, and then set up it according to their demands, then watched silently as they lifted on his bench.

I mean yeah, that’s how I feel about it except cuckolds enjoy it, I didn’t even get the pleasure out of the humiliation. My experience is literally worse than cuckoldry.

Hey dude it’s ok people kind of come at eachother a lot these days, I’m only 22 so maybe you know better than to take my advice but I really think there’s no reason to be afraid of people. The adults in my life if I go up to them they’ll welcome me and show me something in a calm way. It’s a spatial intelligence thing some people are so caught up in whatever abstract thing is on their mind or their sense of superiority about emotions or the narrative of whatever their doing in the moment. But most people don’t do too much they go to work and come home and are still busy with work mentally. Just have a grip on what you look like in the room and it really really helps me with anxiety.

Bullying makes men stronger. People used to throw basketballs at my head in elementary school. In grade 10 I started lifting, and had so much seething rage inside me, I'd shoulder check the same guys in the hallway when I passed by them.

Sorry it took you this long to find out, but now you understand why strength training and even fighting sports are important past times for men. We're all animals with the thin veil of civility and law covering all of our actions. Have the mindset that you're prepared to bash the skull in of strangers who walk up to you. Simply put, you need more rage inside of you

A lot of truth to this. If you ever listen to interviews of professional fighters talking about how they got started, it's almost always because they got picked on and decided that enough was enough and they needed to learn how to stand up for themselves.

Being bullied is a test. It either makes you or breaks you

You are fricked! Also, next time, go to gym, don't talk to anyone and anyone who talks to you just ignore them and don't acknowledge their existence. Why were you being so submissive? WTF? thinking of making friends? Do you think this reality world is some kind of video game or fantasy novel like The Lord of the Rings? This is reality situation! Not some fantasy life!

Anon, dont worry too much about it. If you feel bad about gymming then start smaller at home with basic calisthenics, otherwise you could go to another gym. Dont report them to the gym staff, I understand that it felt really bad for you but objectively they didnt do anything too egregious

It sucks but focus on learning from it, its no big deal, realize most people out there arent to be trusted and you should focus on yourself. Like someone else said dont let anyone "work in" a barbell movement. Dont change gyms, keep going and get stronger, goodluck
