THIS BOARD WAS RUINED BY FAT OVERWEIGHT OBESE POWERSHITTERS!!! GIVING EVERYONE POWERSHITTER ADVICE. TELLING THEM TO DO STRENGTH PROGRAMS AND BULK UP TO 250 LBS BECAUSE “YOU NEED TO BUILD A BASE!!!”
Climbing > Calisthenics > weights > machines
I used to do calisthenics now i mostly use them to supplement non climb days.

Calisthenics has been a journey. The closer I get to my calisthenic goals, the more I have to prune other exercises I enjoy. Currently I’m closing in on the one armed chin up, and just two days ago I did my first free balancing handstand push-up. I was honest to god not prepared for the amount time this shit would take. I’ve working on the HSPU for a year now (had to learn to balance from scratch) and working on the OAC seriously for like 6 months. It’s been a blast though.
What I enjoy about it is that there is a tangible goal at the end of the tunnel. You can either HSPU or OAC or you can’t. Bodybuilding never ends. And power lifting never ends, but at least calisthenics kind of has end points and then a period of consolidation and refinement.
Thanks for reading my blog. My next goal is the stalder press once I achieve the OAC & HSPU together. Then I can scale back training in both of those things to make room for it
I can one arm chin up but still working on a free handstand, can do the splits though.
>Gymtards after finally having sex and needing to rest every 3 minutes because they can't handle the cardio
>Climbing > Calisthenics > weights > machines
amen. Pursing a hobby that's fun or challenging and physical is so much more rewarding than just indulging your vanity or numbahs with no other goal in mind.

I think callisthenics in of itself is boring as frick. You get similar results from gymnastics and climbing while also being a lot more fun, and social if you care about that. Climbers might have a lot of annoying skinny hippies but almost every callisthenics enthusiast is an insufferable narcissist that can’t stop posting videos of himself doing muscle ups next to people lifting.
Guess what, when you gym you get good at lifting heavy, when you do callisthenics you get good at lifting your body in impressive ways. Imagine being good at the thing you train for.
With that said you should do both. Why limit yourself to just one thing? Get athletic and functionally strong from cali/gymnastics/climbing and get big and symmetrically strong from the gym.
>Climbers might have a lot of annoying skinny hippies
honestly half the reason I joined a climbing gym was the easy girls that still had pubes in 2016. It's probably the easiest time I've had getting laid as the relaxed silent type.
Yea indeed. Women are very easy. But as other anon said, a lot of them have orbiters. But that ironically usually makes it easier since they’re so used to simp attention that if you don’t give them any and make them initiate convo you’re in. I went from 4 women total to ~25 in 2 years of climbing.
Bait thread but I think more lifters should incorporate some bodyweight exercises beyond pull-ups. I start my shoulder day with handstand push-ups against the wall, and include one arm push-ups and pike push-ups on chest days. It seems to be especially good for the serratus
>Calisthenics is so much more based than gay weight lifting
>powersharting is based
I hate powershitters more
yeah powerlifters are fat bro and uhhh they're like totally nonfucional yknow? hahahahahahha

Post body tripgay
Don’t need to. I know I’m jacked
>t.
More aesthetic than I when I was 13yo dweeb. I kneel.
Wow you’re dumb aren’t you
>This board was ruined by people who actually lift
>Not the DYEL demoraliser refugees from other boards
Strongmen are the only ones that truly lift, powershitters are only pranksters, stage sideshows to the real Gs.
>meanwhile every dyel skeleton telling people with zero muscle to cut into infinity because 15% is too fat
I mean they shouldn’t be bulking @ 15% bf

Streetlifting > climbhomosexualry > shitsthenics
Doing both is optimal, if you can
i want to get into calisthenics but i dont have friends
Nice excuse moron, you don't need friends to exercise
Based
Calichads stay winning
Too bad it comes with a mandatory superiority complex
more like memesthenics
Doing *exclusively* calisthenics is dumb and most likely impossible given the high minimum strength required.
Meanwhile, most lifters will do bodyweight exercises amongst their usual stuff.
Any fitness style which is defined by *not* doing other exercises is silly.

this
now post someone doing calisthenics who isnt on a shitload of roids
Pretty much every rock climber
the combo of both makes it even better.

I don't give a frick about freestanding HSPU but I'm totally obsessed with Baki pose and specifically Baki push ups (true one arm push up)

where the frick do you live? i have almost never seen a woman at the climbing gym without her boyfriend or a group of 3 other guys
Michigan

Calisthenics is just (body)weightlifting
This.

enjoy looking eternally dyel
My body just responds terribly to body weight training almost any sport I do makes me better at pull ups than doing pull ups.
Works great if you're hitting failure within 6-30 rep range. Otherwise, you will need weights to stimulate growth
>Why yes, I do have a minimalist home gym and train with weighted calisthenics instead of being a dumb ideologue, how did you know?
